Defensive Coordinator: Kirby Smart (previous DC for Alabama)
O-Line Coach/Assistant OC: Jeff Stoutland (previous O-Line coach for Alabama)
D-Line Coach: Bo Davis (previous Defensive Tackles Coach for Texas)
Cuts/Not Resigned

Derek Landri
Dallas Reynolds
Dion Lewis
Jason Avant
Resigned
Jon Dorenbos 1 yr/$850k
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie 5 yrs/$45 million
King Dunlap 2 yrs/$2.1 million
Akeem Jordan 2 yrs/$1.8 million
Colt Anderson 1 yr/$700k
Free Agency/Trades
RT Andre Smith 5 years/$40 million
-Smith looked like a bust his first year or two in the league. But since then, he has turned into one of the better right tackles in the league. Thankfully for us, there are multiple elite left tackles on the market so Smith may be quiet in free agency. We snag him and give him a great contract for a RT, and all of a sudden we have the best pair of tackles in the league.
CB Brent Grimes 3 years/$12 million
-Grimes was an elite corner in 2011. With his recent major injury, he won't get the contract he would have before. We offer him an almost fully guaranteed contract to come to Philly. Grimes even at 75% of what he was in 2011 is a steal at $4mil a year. And if he comes back in full form, its an even bigger steal.
WR Danario Alexander 2 years/$5 million
-Alexander has looked very impressive recently in San Diego. Fortunately for us, its a bigger mess over there than it is in Philly. So Danario leaves to come play under Chip and gives us another massive target along with Cooper. He could even be our #2 receiver and a very good one at that.
LB Rolando McClain 1 year/$1.2 million
-Yes, McClain has been a bust so far. But with his former coach now in Philly, why not give him a shot? He could eventually play inside for us when we eventually transition to a 3-4 two years or so down the road. First he needs to prove himself here. And if anyone can turn him into a great player, its Kirby Smart.
DT Glenn Dorsey 2 years/$4 million
- Also has been a disappointment since being drafted. He is best in a 4-3 defense, which is what we'll run under Kirby at least for the next couple seasons. Would be a solid rotation guy for our d line.
G Antoine Caldwell 1 year/$1.1 million
-Veteran guard who can step up and play if needed. Lack of depth killed our line this year. Caldwell helps solve this problem.
Jeremy Maclin and a 4th round pick is traded to Miami for their 2nd round pick
Nnamdi Asomaghu is traded to Baltimore for a 5th round pick
Draft
Eagles finish 3-13...and luck out and get the first pick...
1 (1): Geno Smith QB West Virginia
-Many people are skeptical of Geno this year. They say he is just the number one QB by default due to lack of talent in this class at the position. He isn't the Luck or RGIII prospect, but I think he's a lot closer than people think. He's an incredibly polished passer despite the mobile QB label that's been put on him for some reason (he can run if needed but isn't some burner). He has a nice arm strength wise, but his real skill is his accuracy. He can fit the ball in the tightest of windows and he always amazes me.with some of the throws he makes. Combine that with the fact that he has amazing.pocket presence and awareness, an incredible work ethic, and a high football IQ and you get why he is the number one pick.
2 (1): Dion Jordan DE/OLB Oregon
-Jordan,simply put, is an animal. He is one of those JPP type prospects as in he is taken because of his incredible athletic abilities and physical prowess. This class is deep with pass rushers, so he can drop to us with the 33rd pick. Chip gets one of his former players. We get a guy who can straight up get to the QB. I think he is a mix of JPP and Aldon Smith. He is the next pass rushing star in the NFL.
2 (16 via Mia): Matt Elam S Florida
-Elam is the perfect safety for us. He lays the wood. Oh and he isn't too bad in coverage either. He would likely be the first safety taken if it weren't for his height. We have been itching for the next Brian Dawkins in Philly and Elam could fill those shoes.
3 (1): Joseph Fauria TE UCLA
-One of the better tight ends in this class. He is a big target who also has great athletic ability and is a solid blocker. Celek is serviceable, but he is no stud as he just lacks that athletic ability that guys like Hernandez, Graham, Davis, etc have. Fauria does.
5 (1): Daniel McCullers DT Tennessee
-McCullers is a mammoth of a human being at 6'7 360 lbs. He is incredibly raw but with the right coaching he could be a key player on our defense. We could finally have a true nose tackle. He is a wall in the middle and could pair with Cox to make us a beast of a team in the trenches.
5 (23 via Bal): Stedman Bailey WR West Virginia
-Bailey isnt the athlete that his counterpart Tavon Austin is. He is a bit small at 5'11, but he is fast, he has great hands, and he is incredibly familiar with our new quarterback. Bailey, with Geno throwing him the ball, could be the next great slot receiver.
6 (1): Braxston Cave C Notre Dame
-Cave has struggled a bit lately, but he is still a solid player, I believe he could step in right away if needed and do a fine job. Gives us depth along the offensive line and insurance behind Kelce.

I kinda like this.
Howie is staying for at least one more season, regardless of peoples feelings. _________________

If he is already trying to talk to chip kelly about being coach, he probably stays. _________________

I think he might stay too....but maybe he could move to a different position like Player Finance or whatever its called and let a football mind come in as GM. That'd be ideal...let Howie stay on and take care of the money...and then bring in a GM who knows about player personel and such.... _________________

As much as I'd love Danario Alexander on this team, no way does San Diego let him go.. just saying. _________________

Agreed. After losing VJax last year, there's no way they can relinquish his steadily-improving replacement.
Otherwise, I kinda like this mock, especially the draft. Without Danario or a similar FA signing, however, we certainly can't trade away Maclin. _________________

| I would much rather have position coaches from the NFL. An all-college coaching staff is not going to be successful. |
