just to cover what I was saying before.
You beat the Packers by beating Rodgers. That team lives and dies with him. Their Oline is a mess, complete disaster, So I'm guessing we'll only have 2 sacks. You must get pressure from every single lineman to slow Rodgers down. If we don't get pressure up the middle, Rodgers is probably going 28 for 31 on completions....again.
Otherwise, Ponder will need to step up. He's going to need to make those big throws instead of just the short dumpoff passes. Adrian Peterson will need to go into Adrian Peterson mode, and hopefully we get a few lucky plays go our way. Those near INTs, or fumbles, we need to make something of those.
and at the same time, its hard to beat GB at GB. The refs call pretty much everything there way. I'm expecting a few fines for some terrible calls all going 100% in favor to the Packers. The NFL needs their dominant teams.
I'd be shocked if we beat Greenbay. Literally. If we win I'm expecting a lightning bolt to pass through me.
Thats all I got. 48-17 Packers. Atleast 14 come from the refs alone. _________________

Clay Matthews and Charles Woodson are unlikely to play. That will take away a lot of the blitzes that Dom Capers likes to run.
Greg Jennings will likely be back though.
The bottom line is that the Vikings secondary is not very good and their DL doesn't get much of a pass rush on the road. The Green Bay offence is probably going to put up a 30-burger without turning the ball over, and the Vikings are not going to be able to keep up.
It's also a case where, just like the Bears in Week 12, the Vikings are on the road against a better divisional opponent that is coming off their worst performance of the year. _________________

Honestly Steve, I don't think you should comment until you've had a chance to relax and be more objective, because the thoughts that come out of your posting are extreme. 48-17? You're talking about a Packers team that at home has compiled the following performances this season at home:
Loss vs. SF 30-22
Win vs. Chi 23-10
Win vs. NO 28-27
Win vs. Jax 24-15
Win vs. Ariz 31-17
Yes, they are 4-1, but they've struggled against some of the most beatable teams this season and they've only got anywhere near 48 pts in 1 game, which happened to be on the road.
I'm not saying that the Vikings will win, because I don't expect them to, but I think it's awfully shortsighted to think that the Packers will put 48 pts on the board vs. this team. I just can't see a repeat of last season's debacle at Lambeau.
The Vikings will lose, but I think it'll be something closer to 28-17 rather than 48-17. _________________

28 or 35 to 20, green bay, imo. I do not like the vikings defense on grass. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

This isn't a game that we can easily win. I just hope the offense plays better than it did yesterday. |

I'm pretty confident in saying that the Vikings will lose, but if the DL can actually get pressure, I can see it being a 7-10 point loss. I think 2 major points is Ponder and the DL. Both play well, it should at least be close.
I know it's obvious positions but its 100% relevant for this team lol _________________ XBL/PSN: Chainedsniper |

I think the Vikings lose, I just hope they do so with some amount of competence rather than being completely incompetent like they were yesterday. _________________

Ponder throws for 400 yards
AP runs for 250
Rudy with 150 yards
Harvin returns 2 kick offs of TD's
Vikings win in blowout 63-19
No pessimism ITT _________________

The Packers should be favored, but the Vikings absolutely can win this game.
The defensive line has to step up and get some serious pressure on Rodgers.
AD needs to be his usual beastly self.
The passing game needs to be considerably better than it has been. Percy will be back, so that will help our special teams as well as the passing game. The other receivers will need to start holding onto the ball when Ponder hits them in the hands. Ponder will need to keep hitting all the receivers in the hands, and avoid throwing to the defenders.
This team is absolutely capable of beating the Packers - especially with all the injuries they have. They will just need to play a good game to do it. Still, the odds are in the Packers' favor.
P.S. - Another thing to keep in mind is that if we keep this one close, we have a much, much, MUCH better kicker than they have right now. That puts the pressure on them if it's close at the end. _________________

I'm not quite as confident, but I agree it can be done if and only if Peterson is the unequivocal focus of the offense throughout. We must establish the ground game and keep the ball out of Rodgers' hands. Controlling the clock in a game like this is paramount.
I have no doubts that Woodson and company are licking their chops at the prospect of going up against Ponder. This will be a great test for Ponder, so we should be excited to see how he fares. Our best chance of winning, though, comes with minimizing his impact on the game and maximizing Peterson's. _________________

Our secondary couldn't cover the Bears and their 3 or 4 healthy WRs, what makes anyone think this wont get REAL ugly? _________________ 2017 - In Zimmer We Trust.
