I did not see a thread on this so if there is one go ahead and close this one
I saw today where Foles will start next game regardless whether Vick is healthy or not. I am on the fence with this topic but want to open a discussion on bringing Vick in next year. My thoughts is how amazing would it be with AD, Harvin and Vick. Vick can be a good QB if he had a decent line. The problem in Philly is their O-line which is crazy bad. Vick could give Ponder a couple years on the bench just like Rodgers had in GB.
I believe that Ponder will be good down the road but when we have a better supporting cast at WR. Vick is on the wrong side of 30 but everyone knows he had a couple years wear and tear reduction because of his situation. I also believe that physically gifted QB's can play to 36 years young in today's game if protected. I believe that we have built a decent O-line for Vick to be successful.
What does everyone else think about Vick being in purple Vick would also sell some tickets which is another positive!

Andy Reid has stated that even if Vick were to be healthy tomorrow, he'd still be starting his backup from now on.

| The situation the Eagles are in is the reason why Foles is starting, not Vick. I have been a big fan of Vick, but i don't know if the management would do it with the youth movement. But it would be quite exciting to watch and i personally would love it. |

The way I read that is Foles is the new starting QB. I do not think that anyone who is starting games over another is a backup or am I missing something ? If that is the case maybe Vick will ask to be traded because he believes he can still start in this league. |

No thanks. The offense was inept even with Vick at the helm and he's not getting any younger. Each hit he takes seems to knock him out for a longer period of time. _________________

Vick has had one partial year where he was very good. He still isn't, he has a ton of hits on his body, and he is very inaccurate.
Plus he's old and with our WR's, he isn't going to be an improvement, maybe if we have Moss, Carter, and Reed at WR still he would make sense because they could get open whenever and make great plays, but Jenkins, Simpson, and Harvin aren't that group, even though Harvin is great. _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

I will never understand why anyone would want Vick at this point as there starting QB. He has been a part of two terrible Eagles teams the past two years and is usually good to miss a significant part of the season.
Id rather get Matt Flynn as a viable starter/backup. |

Both are awful options.
I wonder what Kurt Warner is doing _________________

Vick would undoubtedly be an upgrade over Ponder, but with his age, I don't see him as a good fit. When you think about it, Joe Webb has a very similar skill set and has far fewer miles on the clock. We might just as well go with him. He also knows our offense. _________________

More likely than not, he will get cut-loose this offseason, since I'm sure his cap number is far to high for a back-up QB. We should definately bring him in the day after he is cut and give him a good, hard look. Who amongst us here believes that if we had Flynn starting yesterday, we'd have walked away with a win? _________________ "No one can disguise mediocrity better than Bill Belichick." |

Of course they are, but at least Tebow wouldn't get hurt every time someone touched him. _________________
