Ponder will never be a 350 yds, 4 TDs type of quarterback. Don't forget, we have that #28 guy.
Was he great? No. But did he execute the gameplan? Yes.
I appreciated this take from Paul Allen: http://www.kfan.com/pages/psn_paulallen.html?article=10627739

But give the guy some credit for facing a week of negativity hitting him from all angles and making some plays. He had some huge third-down conversions, and let Adrian and the defense do the rest. We won. Be happy. Let the QB spot get handled by the professionals this offseason. If SPIELMAN wants a new one he'll get one.
Christian faced the negatives today and left with the money, thanks to a team effort. He did the same thing off the crap game at Seattle when he came home and zapped the Lions. He's maturing as a quarterback and as a man. Enjoy the ride. |

I don't know what indicates Ponder is "maturing as a quarterback and as a man" given that he makes awful decisions of the same kind every week. Paul Allen is a notorious mega-homer, of course, so it is what it is. _________________

| I really cant take anything Paul Allen takes seriously, he is a notorious homer. Though that is his job basically, so can you blame him? No one wants to hear a pessimistic and negative Viking fan on radio broadcasts. |

Ponder didn't play well, and for the most part, I gave up on him last week. He showed his biggest weaknesses-arm strength, today. He equally showed some glimpses of his potential today if his recievers were a bit better.
His underthrown interception for Wright was unforgivable, but he made some really nice throws today.
I will say Musgraves route trees are horrendous, and every time there is a play-action call, 3 defenders in Ponders face immediately.
After last week, I was convinced Ponder was as much as the problem as anyone on the offense. Today, I'm not sure he wouldn't be a competent QB with a better O.C. and receivers. |

I would call it a Tarvaris Jackson type of game. Comparing him to Alex Smith would be giving him too much credit. A game like this by any quarterback would be worthless in the playoffs unless we had an '85 Bears quality defense to go along with AD's beastly running. We have one of those things. Without the dominant defense, you need a quarterback who can actually contribute, not just one who doesn't throw the game away with mistakes. _________________

91 total passing yards. I legitimately can think of no defense for that. "WRs are horribad" doesn't even cut it. This is Ponder's what, 5th game of the season throwing for less than 100 yards? _________________

How did McNabb stay as a starting QB with 39 yards passing? |

Ponder did average more yards per completion than Peterson did per carry. _________________

Trying to run the clock out.
Even if your facing 9-10 in the box. _________________

Outside of the two long runs on the first drive, the Bears did a good job at limiting long runs by Peterson. |

I didn't see Peppers in the backfield a whole lot, and Adrian Peterson had a couple of big runs to Peppers' side, so offhand I would have to say that Kalil definitely didn't "struggle". _________________
