Had to demonstrate exercises at work today, will have to do some shoulder/neck/back stuff tomorrow at therapy. Didn't hurt doing the band work but IDK about any heavy lifting this week. STINKS!
Actually it felt a lot better today than yesterday however my back and right shoulder(where I get therapy) really tightened up worse than ever today. I think because the intrinsic muscles are weak I'm tightening up. _________________

You see results from hitting a certain area only once a week? I'm in a different position, just a runner trying to have some definition, so I do a full body type workout a few times a week. But I found it interesting that those of you trying to get bigger only hit spots once a week. |
I hit each muscle group twice a week _________________ RTR

Day1) Legs
Day 2) Push
Day 3) Pull
Day 4) Off
REPEAT!
I train each body part about once every 5 days or so. |

Yep, I've seen more results from going hard on an area once a week than when I was going a bit less hard but hitting it twice a week. You destroy the muscle, give it a few days to heal back up stronger and then you destroy it again.
If I hit the part twice a week I don't feel as strong during each workout. I was going a routine of Back/Tri, Chest/Bi so that I was directly hitting areas once a week and indirectly on another day but just never felt fully recovered. I switched it to push/pull (Chest/Tri, Back/Bi) and in just a month I've seen more gains than I did the entire time I did the opposite. _________________

Same here. I do upper, lower, rest, repeat. |

Bicep/Forearms
Legs
Chest/Tri
Back/Shoulders
Sneak in some rest here and there. Repeat.
I'll change it up when I start cutting in the Spring. _________________

For you creatine users out there, what do you mix with? I've been using water but it doesn't dissolve well at all _________________ RTR

I don't know if I SEE results (been at it for a month) but I sure do feel 'em. I try to get in as much stretching as possible as well, that tends to help me out with the post workout tightness, helps me with range of motion and doesn't have me all locked up following a grueling workout.
Right now, anything I do is a plus, because I'm so out of shape to begin with.
Anywho - My son was teething pretty bad last night, just miserable and crying the whole time. Wife and I always elect to bring him into bed with us, to calm him down a bit. He tends to sleep between us - we make a human "H" when he sleeps in our bed, with him being the horizontal one. He usually has head and arms around his mom (he's a mama's boy, much like I was) and his feet by me.
So...last night, every time I was starting to fall asleep, I'd feel a "THUNK!" right in the gut. Id turn around to sleep on the other side, "THUNK!" right in the spine...as if he was aiming it. There he was, kicking me. Hard. Boy kicks like a mule. Part of me is proud that he's got such a brutal kick, part of me is tired because I got about 2 hours of on again, off again sleep. So, when my alarm went off at 3:30, I was dead tired, had zero energy to head to the gym. My wife works out in the afternoon, so I don't have the time to make up for today.
Meh. Marathon, not sprint. Not sure if I should do back/biceps or chest/tri tomorrow... _________________

That was my experience too so I started buying the capsules. Much easier. _________________

Using warm/hot water and then refrigerating it over night helps too. |

Leave the creatine in it over night? Wouldn't that dilute it? _________________ RTR

Dilute what?
Using the warm/hot water just allows it to dissolve easier (the same reason you heat up tea before making iced tea). _________________

Okay, you boys have inspired change. I'm going to go the more traditional route; Back & Biceps and that will leave my 4th day being Forearms & Shoulders. I'll mess around with some shrugs to try and get a wrist movement at the bottom that will make those forearms burn. _________________
