Another one bites the dust.
So I'm guess this means we're not going to be using the wide-9 technique anymore? _________________

We might use it in obvious 3rd and long passing downs, but expect a normal 4-3 DL now... _________________

| Quote: | | “Jim is a fine football coach and we appreciate the efforts he gave to this team over the past two years,” Reid said. “However, I determined that it was in the team’s best interest that we move in a different direction in terms of trying to maximize the production of that position group. We look forward to having Tommy Brasher back on board to work with the defensive line.” |
In other words, your defensive line scheme stinks.
As I said before, the hiring of Jim Washburn was the beginning of the end of Reid's reign. _________________

That's not true. Hiring McDermott as the "permanent DC" when he could have gone outside of the organization. JJ masked Reid's dumb defensive personnel decisions. No one else that Reid hired was talented enough to do that very same thing. |

| So, what does this mean for Cox now? Wasn't he supposed to be the perfect fit for Washburn's scheme? |

I'm pretty sure we drafted Fletch, because he was the guy that Washburn wanted and the team thought his best fit was the wide nine - it'll be interesting to see if he can play outside of the wide nine. _________________

Other 4-3 teams that don't play the wide-9 would have drafted him, it's not like that's all he can do. I think he's got real talent and can play in any 4-3 defense. _________________
