I am proud to say that I was nowhere close to the bandwagon as I had been fully in support of Frank Gore at the time. I wanted VD in that draft, and I'm proud to say I got it. |

Lets have a nasty dirty game with a buttload of injuries and both fanbases come away from it hating each other, both teams, and all the players on both teams
....oh wait I'm supposed to say the opposite of that. _________________ "well, they got X player I wanted but they clearly overpaid" is the battle cry of bitter and ignorant football fans

Hasn't seen this posted yet. Good stuff by Football Outsiders...

But as the Titans showed in Week 11, teams that load the backfield with extra bodies and run downhill behind man-power blocking pose a different challenge to this group.
That said, the Niners can’t expect to win this game strictly on the ground. Colin Kaepernick should prepare to beat man-to-man defense -– especially if the Niners go to three-receiver sets. (They don’t prefer to do that, but have been more willing to do so since changing quarterbacks.) Two weeks ago, the Dolphins used man-free lurk coverage against another mobile NFC West quarterback, Seattle’s Russell Wilson. |

If they play man to man then Colin should do fine. He struggles with zone. The Bears played man to man and he torched them with his legs and arm. Zone is a different story. The defenders eyes are in the backfield. Thats why the Rams and the Saints held him in check. _________________

Big blow with no Manningham, but more time for Moss.
Now, Jenkins HAS to be activated for the game, correct? _________________

So James and Jenkins are both going to play, about time.
If i had to guess, i'd say we probably get a bigger impact from James instead of Jenkins. Everyone has raved about James in practice. I think he'll have some specific package plays.
And FYI i remember reading in some blog posts that Donte Whitner, a guy i think has a lot of knowledge, compared James to Darren Sproles, and Jenkins to Robert Meachem (skillset, not production). _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |

Glad this thread is back on track. Those pictures of the ladies along with everyone expressing their desire for Bush was getting too XX rated. |

We joke, but now people should see why Jenkins was drafted. Last year we lost Joshua Morgan for the year, and Ginn in the playoffs, so guys like Brett Swain and Joe Hastings had to play large roles for us. Now we lost Kyle Williams for the year, and Manningham is down, but we still have Randy Moss starting, a first round draft pick as our "emergency WR," and Ginn is still an option if needed. If we had taken a back-up OL as many had wanted, we would be left with Ginn as our #3 and would have to sign a guy like Swain or likely a guy like Chad Hall or Ricardo Lockette to play a significant role on the team. _________________

Crabtree, Moss and Davis is still a pretty good set of WRs. Hopefully Jenkins can perform. _________________

Yes! I never like to see an injury, but I'm extremely happy that we might get more than 1 or 2 Moss sightings. _________________
