Leading into the season I would of happily let them go at the end of this season.
They have both played better than I thought they would and with such a young team there experience is very important.
I would give both of them 3 year front loaded contracts that after a couple of years they can be cut for a small cap hit.
Why create more needs than we allready have?
This way we can still go after a CB and a TE if one is there in FA or the draft that we want but we don't have to force it which is when you make mistakes. _________________

Couldn't agree more.
Brown is, and has been, our 2nd best CB. Until we find someone better and get a few games under their belt, I don't see how we don't keep him.
Watson too has been solid. _________________

Browns play today was the product of a slow sloppy field. Kinda like how Andra Davies looked all world in the Buffalo snow bowl game.
Brown needs to retire or be cut. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

With the new salary cap agreement, we'll have to spend money. Unless we go out there and really sign some free agents, I think we'll re-sign most of our guys, even the ones some of us might not want to keep all that much (Cribbs, Brown, Watson). _________________

Brown played great today, but, it was vs. the Raiders and the bad thing about him is that vs. speedier receivers, he just gets beat too many times. I think he is still a solid player.....but he will just be a year older next year
Watson I'm kind of iffy about because honestly I'd love for Cameron to get more time as he seems to be a reliable TE and it would suck for us to let him walk due to not getting enough snaps or keeping older players....
I also wouldn't mind letting Smith go.....I understand he is doing his part decently, but, I wouldn't mind giving Smelly a go... |

I want to see Brown play nickel corner next year or free safety, I think he will regres further and we will ned a replacement for him, definetly worth having around. _________________ I survived Johannesburg, 2013. |

If I were a betting man, I would bet that Banner lets both guys walk in the offseason. That's just me guessing on his past history with players this age.
I agree that I'm not thrilled by about creating any more holes, but I can't see Banner re-signing either guy. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking along the same lines. _________________

It's one of the reasons Watson stays IMO and Brown goes. Also worth mentioning is Watson is the best blocking TE the Browns have also _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

everyone always trashes Brown but he is consistently good. One of the best decisions we've made on a trade since the return in 99 and I'd LOVE to see him resigned. everyone was getting beat yesterday including Haden and Brown pretty much saved the day. _________________

Watson is still pretty good.
If we can get him cheap, I see no reason not to.
I mean we have Cameron who is still learning, and worthless/FB Alex Smith.
I like having Watson in there still _________________

go back to the Cowboys game and look at all calls he had against the Browns because he is old and slow. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!
