Dude you better watch yourself before you wreck yourself, you said Rex, Bart Scott, and Kyle Wilson might be Play of the Game. Saying stuff like that might get you stabbed around here.

Rex benching Mark. Without that, that extra spark would have never came that lead the scoring drive. Wilk, Greene, Elroy, and Landry were great. But Rex putting his ego aside was huge. _________________

I regret giving him permission.
I went Mo because they can't run at him and he did solid in pass rushing too. _________________

I think I'd go Greene/Powell.
More Powell please, and no more Joe Mcknight at RB. _________________

The only answer is Lindley, for being absolutely putrid for the entire game. Let's call a spade a spade: if he's not the QB on the opposing team, there's no way in hell we win this. Dude was like 10/30 with 70 yards passing. That's terrible _________________

I also agree Rex choosing to bench Sanchez as well as giving us a healthier dose of Bilal Powell was a key factor in us winning this game. Think Powell helped Greene.
But I do not believe the reason Rex was not making the change was his ego. Rather to me its an issue of loyalty to his players as well as the fact that once you make a decision of that magnitude the road back is not easy especially not in NYC.
I am excited by the play of Wilkerson, if we see comparable play from Coples and can get a true pass rushing OLB in the draft I feel our D will be dominant once again next year. |

Would love to see snaps. I guess Scott was able to play so much due to lack of passing game. _________________

Forgot about him. I listened to most of this game on the radio, but I believe they named Kyle Wilson the POTG on the post-game show. _________________

The game changed when McElroy came in, so I'll give it to him.
Honorable mention goes to Ryan Lindley, for what was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from a QB. That helped us a lot. _________________

| The crowd/McElroy. The Jets actually felt at home during a home game. |

The player of the game for this wasn't a player at all - it was just the bizarre entertainment value despite it being one of the worst performances of football all year.
Being at this game was the first time the Metlife circus actually felt like an enjoyable circus. This game was bizarre and it's entertainment value was built on a comedy of errors and the Jets being down at half time from a 60 yard fake punt run to set up a field goal. The quarterback duel was the absolute inverse of Manning vs. Brady and I knew we were in for a real treat when Sanchez just launched a pass off his back foot deep in Jets territory into the middle of the field on the first play of the game.
The fans chanting for McElroy... when he gets in the game the eruption from the crowd. The fans were in absolute elation, chanting McElroy's name, three plays into his NFL debut after three successful handoffs. The fact that things just so happened to start going his way... the penalties, the run game really clicking behind him. The fact that Sanchez is benched and Tebow is still on the bench sitting next to him, watching the man who made him cry at Alabama stealing his thunder. All of it was just so funny.
I enjoyed myself. And I deserved it after being at the San Francisco, Miami and New England games. This was how bad football is supposed to be. |
