It appears Barclay knows how to run block. _________________

Ah. Doesn't sound serious though. Thought Barclay played well-enough and our Oline overall. Ran the ball at will most of the game. |
When Lang returns play Barclay at RT and Land at LG? _________________

Yeah we've been getting at that haha.
Either way, that shoulder is an issue. More so than they'll let on. Maybe he isn't the correct option even at LG. Who knows? _________________

Sounds good to me. | What McGinn was saying B4 this game, I agree with him too. |

EDS shouldn't be more than a 9th offensive linemen. _________________

That's a stretch. He isn't a bad alternative for a temporary period of time. I'm not sure I want to rely on him going forward at center, though. _________________

Let's see, Vikings 5 penalties for 48 yds, Packers 10 penalties for 78 yards. Really? _________________ "Wherever you go, you represent the team. You will talk like, you will look like and you will act like the most dignified professional in your hometown" - Vince Lombardi to his players. |

I dont think you can necessarily just look at Penalty stats to determine how a game was officiated. I think you have to look into what was called, what wasnt called and obviously the situation in which they were called. Honestly, i dont think that was holding on Lang on the second James Jones TD called back. It erased 4 points off the board, that doesnt show up in the stats...
The terrible call right at the beginning of the second half when the Vikes had the ball on 3rd and long, resulted in AP breaking that big run on first down after the bad call. Vikes marched and eventually Ponder threw a pick in the redzone so it really didnt matter, but if he hadent and the vikings scored i wouldve been a little ticked seeing as how earlier in the drive the defense should have been off the field wayyyyy earlier in the drive, but werent due to a bad call.
Cant determine any of that with the Vikings 5 penalties for 48 yds, Packers 10 penalties for 78 yards line _________________

Big win for you guys today, it was a very competitive game and really could have gone either way. That 11 minute drive at the end of the game kind of put the game away.
Its just so pathetic seeing Peterson beast in two separate games (this game and against Seattle) just for it all to be nullified by crappy QB/WR play. Week 17 should be fun. |

All around great performance from the OL. Seriously needed this and they came through big time. I hope Lang is back soon and can fill in at LG, but either way, Barclay came to play big time. The run game was so impressive. The offense got in a rhythm at the end and had an absolutely studly 10+ minute drive to put the dagger in. House was incredible throughout--physical and ran with their guys. Pass rush was lacking, but hopefully that can be eradicated with CMIII returning.
Either way, hell of a win. Can't wait to do my mock tonight! |
We need Barrett Jones from Bama, dude can play all interior positions. _________________

Oh geez, I wasn't saying the refs are the reason Minnesota lost. Minnesota lost simply because they beat themselves. Christian Ponder looked like a highschool QB out there. He's awful.
But over the course of the season minus one bad call against the Seahawks, I feel like the Packers are the beneficiaries of many calls by the refs.
Jared Allen should have had an INT this game, and potentially making this a much different game (again with ponder though, I doubt he would've been able to complete any pass in the playbook , thus making this game any different. He plays so scared and unpoised out there its just laughable)
Whatever. I've seen enough of the packers to know what kind of team that is. Take that for what its worth.
See ya in week 17. I doubt the outcome will be any different though. lol _________________

I understand it was Adrian Peterson. But it is real frustrating that they can take a 3rd and 1 80 yards to the house and we can't seem to get a first down in the same situation.
Refs evened out IMO. But the Vikings definitely got screwed over on the roughing the passer/INT call.
Win is always better than a loss. Once again, we control our own destiny... That means we lose to the Lions next week, right? _________________ GO PACK GO!

Also, and I mean no offense to the Vikings posters , who have been pretty cool this year, but the Vikings offense is boring as hell to watch. Aside from Peterson, did they move the ball more than 6 yards once? Did Ponder throw the ball further than 10 yards in the air even 5 times? Yuck! _________________ GO PACK GO!

Part of that is Harvin being out. He makes the offense more exciting. Another part is having no real WRs after Harvin either. |
