Shughnessy depends on contract. Reggie won't over pay him. He isn't an ideal RE. Maybe better suited at LE
wheeler I'm sure they will bring him back. He is good for depth.
Bryant def worth a deal. Good role player.
Hanson good depth
Myers he is decent but he can't block whatsoever. I really want to see ausberry/Gordon play more.
The rest let walk.
Thoughts? |

I think they'll bring back most of the RFAs and ERFAs to fill the training camp roster and let those guys compete for a spot.
They seem to like Goodson and he's probably good depth to have.
I wouldn't be surprised if Barnes is given another 1 year contract.
Bryant should be re-signed. Wheeler has proved expendable but i guess he wouldn't be a bad option if he comes cheap enough.
Not sure about the CBs. I don't care about any of them but how do we replace everyone of them?
I think Myers will leave. I thought the system would lead to impressive stats for him and it clearly did. Imo, it's not an indication of how talented he really is and pretty much any TE could do the same in this offense. _________________

I really hope Barnes isn't back. He has been horrible I've been watching him on the coaches 22 which you can get on nfl.com now. He is just as bad as brisel
Myers is nothing special
I guess Goodson could be back |

Myers
Shaugnessy
Bryant
Wheeler
Those are the only ones I view as even semi-important to bring back, depending on their demands, of course. We need to bring back a couple of the CBs as well, otherwise we will need to sign/draft a bunch to replace them. _________________

Yea, I wouldn't mind seeing Myers walk after this season. He can't run block well, and it seems like most of his stats accumulate during garbage time. _________________

For another week you mean?
Hard to commit a roster spot to someone average who has had definite injury issues. You really, as a team, want to try and find someone better and more reliable than this.. So I think that's what they'll do. |

I didn't say to start him, but he'll be cheap, good depth and veteran leadership. He wasn't bad when healthy. _________________

I'd bring back Bartell too. Even though he hasn't been spectacular at all, I don't think we've seen what he's capable yet. He missed just about all of last year and has missed most of this year too. It's hard to get back in it when you're in pro sports and miss significant time. Another cheap, 1-year deal for Bartell sounds good to me. _________________

Sure, and I agree. But it kinda messes up your season when you carry 4 CBs only to see half of them go down very early. If Bartell and Spencer are counted on to be in your top 4 it's a risk. It only flew this season because it was a desperation measure after a bit of house cleaning. You can't replace them mid-season effectively. Camp and offseason are the time to replace them.
So there's more risk than it being 2 guys who are vets with some leadership and moderate ability. It becomes a liability because of their potential for extended missed time.
I'd say 1 year deals on both, but if a younger player or other signee proves equal or better then go with someone else. Their health is a liability that outweighs average play or overblown leadership.
There's more lose than win to having either guy in your top 4, so let's hope they are replaced. |

Thats because half our season has been garbage time
On a serious note, who would we replace him with? I don't see us signing anybody cheaper who would be an upgrade in run blocking without being a major downgrade as a pass catcher. _________________

No kidding
I'd like CJ Feirdowizc the TE from Iowa in the draft. Not sure if he'll be there with our 3rd rounder though.
If there are no other options for us then I'm not opposed to bringing back Myers either. I'm just not enamored with his play. _________________

I think with all our needs, we would be much better off resigning Myers and using that 3rd rounder on OL, DL, LB, S, or CB. He has been solid, no need in creating another hole to fill IMO. _________________
