ESPN REPORT: Chiefs player commits suicide at team facility

According to ESPN, a KC Chiefs player committed suicide this morning at the team facility. No player's names released. It is also believed the player shot and killed his GF at a house before driving to the stadium and killing himself.

Wow He did it at practice.

Some time later, Javon Belcher showed up for practice with his teammates. Belcher, allegedly, then pulled a gun and shot himself. The woman killed in the 8 a.m. shooting has been identified as Belcher's girlfriend, but her name has not been released. (The name of the girlfriend is known, but will not be posted in this article.)

According to sources, Belcher and his girlfriend just celebrated the birth of a baby girl almost three months ago. Belcher's girlfriend posted photos of the three together on Facebook with the message:

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours. ♥

"Police Capt. David Lindaman said Belcher, 25, and his girlfriend, 22, got into an argument around 7 a.m. at their home in the 5400 block of Crysler Avenue in Kansas City. Around 7:50 a.m., Lindaman said, Belcher shot his girlfriend multiple times. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Lindaman said Belcher’s mother, who was visiting the couple and their 3-month-old daughter, witnessed the shooting and was being interviewed by police."

Man, this is going to hurt the Chiefs that much more. If I was a player, it would be nearly impossible to play a game the day after this tragic event. I wonder what they are going to do about the game.
