2001: Tomlinson, Brees |
Are all great players, most of them will not be too high up the stats rankings. LT, Brees, Fitz are the best shots, and they wont come close in many areas.
Luck, Griffin, Green, and co are all significantly better right now than any of those guys were at this point of their careers, and are still improving. |
Jared Allen is already 20th overall in sacks and needs only 28.5 to get into the top 10. Considering he's 30 years old, I could easily see him up there.
Jason Witten is already 3rd best ever for a TE in both receptions and yards and will almost certainly pass Shannon Sharpe to be #2
Tomlinson is #5 all time in rushing yards with nobody active close to touching him
Fitzgerald needs 200 catches to break the top 10. At the age of 29, even with his crappy QB's he will be a top 10, maybe top 5 by the time he retires.
Ed Reed is 5th all time in INT's for a safety and has a shot at ending up 3rd overall by the time he retires
It's really not uncommon to have 4-6 statistically "Top 10" guys in a 2-3 year draft period. It's actually pretty common. |

Looking at the box for MNF, Niles Paul returned a kickoff. Was it a squib or was he actually back deep? Its not everyday you see a listed tight end (I know he was a WR in college, but still) returning kickoffs. _________________
