Meh, he really doesn't offer anything James Laurinaitis doesn't. Jason Babin would have made more sense, and the Rams didn't put a claim on him.
I wouldn't be against it, I just don't see any benefit in adding him.

He's a 3-4 ILB, would be a horrible fit for this system. He doesn't have the physical attributes, nor the leadership qualities you would want for a linebacker. He should stay as far away from the Rams as possible.

Just busting chops, serious note though, this kid has deep maturity issues and his play level thus far doesn't suffice them...

You can never have too many pass rushers. If you can, let me know. Also rejuvenated his career under Jeff Fisher. Good fit for the defense. Cost efficient. Lots of good reasons why Jason Babin would have made sense.
But anyways, McClain has not been cut by the Raiders. They just suspended him for two games. Who knows what happens after the suspension.
