Could be released by the Raiders?
If so I'd strongly hope the Steelers try to claim him off of waivers. He'd be a amazing replacement for Foote. _________________

There are certain players you just have to give a chance. The Raiders are a train wreck right now. Can't really make a solid judgement on anybody being released or cut from the Raiders right now. Plus I remember Tomlin going to Alabama's pro day. I mean there was a lot of pundits saying the Steelers were there for Cody, but McClain had to intrigue the Steelers.
I doubt the Steelers pick him up, but I wish they would. _________________

If the steelers are that desperate, they will.
Not many experienced 3-4 inside linebackers available those day.
Worse scenario, he remain the same guy.
Best scenario, he turns into earl holmes 2.0. |

My friend and I were just having this discussion. I know he's had run ins with the law but so had Ta'Amu, Ben, most recently Plax, ect.....He'd be great to bring in as a back up now a let him compete next year with Foote. Its be a great competition between the two and McClain is still young so there's still potential there. Low risk, High Reward. Id put in a claim for him. Couldnt hurt. _________________

Honestly couldn't hurt. I wouldn't mind seeing what he has to offer. Maybe a different surrounding is what he needs. _________________

Love this guy, but I can't see him making it down to where we have a shot at him sadly. _________________

I think once he clears waivers he's pick up just like any other veteran and the Steelers I don't think would be responsible for the remainder of his contract. _________________

Pretty much a 2 down thumper but I think he would compliment Timmons well.
Doubt he makes it to us through waivers... _________________

But another top 10 pick wasted by Oakland. _________________

Good news is we're higher on the waiver priority list than usual. _________________

Let's be honest; we need young, future LB's. This is Oakland we're talking about. They are 10 years into a "depression" stage of the franchise and only going backwards at this point.
I question his character quite a bit, but if things truly aren't what they reportedly were; I'd definitely want to grab him while he's available. _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

Id definitely check him out.
Was a fan of his coming out. From what Ive seen of him, I dont think he will ever be as good as I thought he would be coming out, but I still think he could be decent....at least at Larry Foote's level.....with the right coaching. _________________

| I'd say he's absolutely worth taking a chance on. Someone else is going to get him long before us, though. |
