It was a misdemeanor. | Really? Is pointing a gun at someone's face and shooting around them while they beg for mercy is a misdemeanor now?
Damn, it's all gone to hell. |
In Texans it's aggravated assault w/deadly weapon and it's a 1st degree felony. I don't know what messed up state he was arrested in but making that a misdemeanor is just nuts. He should still be in jail unless he got probation. |

Yeah in England you would get sent down for about 5 years for having a firearm, another 5 for threatening someone with it, then be out in 18 months because of our wonderful justice system _________________

He obviously plead to a misdemeanor. It's extremely common and it's how the justice system works: someone commits a crime and then hires a lawyer to convince the prosecutor that they should be charged with something lesser. Prosecutors routinely consider a person's past legal troubles, their standing/importance to the community, and the detriment to the Defendant's family when giving plea offers.
I've seen 3rd-strike DWIs (normally automatic felonies that carry 25 years) get reduced to 6-months in SAFPF. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |
