McClain has been at least okay on the field from what I've read.

It all depends on the issues surrounding his situation. I've always been a huge fan, though. He's one of my favorite players as he also suffers from Crohn's Disease and he's dealt with it really well so I've looked up to him for a while in that regard. I'm interested to see where he ends up.
But, at this point everyone is worth a look.

| If the Lions were contemplating switching to a 3-4 defense I would bring in McClain and Aaron Curry to play ILB next to Tulloch. Otherwise, I think their potential is wasted. |

Seriously though the management has been doing a good job of ridding themselves of issues.
I think they should avoid him

Doesn't sound like he is worth the issues imo. Doesn't even sound like he is worth even any minor issues if you listen to Oakland fans.
Hard to believe because I thought he was one of the safest picks in the draft.

I do not think he is either but I never rely on the team getting rid of a players fans. They always love the move and it is best for team.
Heck Mike Thomas sucks you know and wont do much. He is looking decent

He was always too slow. I knew that, but I didn't know he was as crazy as he is, nor did I know that he would suck in pretty much every other phase of the game. Paaaasss.
