Ugly wins are still wins and beating Miami in Miami can be a challenge at times.
But yeah, this was pretty much as disappointing as a win can be. |
There's no such thing as an "unsatisfying" win. As long as you get one that's all that matters. | Completely disagree. They played poorly for most of the game, but we should ignore it just because we won? _________________

His 18 snaps against the Ravens still got him 1 tackle which tied starters Ninkovich that game, and bested Chandler Jones 2 assist. Which explains why you can't really expect all that much from him as a backup when even the starters with more playing time did just as much as he did. |
Tackles don't mean anything, especially when it's a whole 1.
Watch his snaps vs. Baltimore. He was a liability. As he has been the last 2 weeks. |

Agree. For a backup, I wouldn't call Scott useless. He stepped up fairly well for a backup.

There's more to a player than a stat line though. Scott hasn't been good at anything other than selling out to rush the passer, and outside of today he's never even been effective at that. _________________

I think there's probably a happy medium.
I'll gladly take any win, but the OL's performance is really worrisome. It's been nice to think Wendell/McDonald/Cannon/Thomas have become good players (and they're certainly better than expected) but as today showed, they can still get exposed by good defenses.
I'd also say that McDaniels tendency to completely abandon the run at times is maddening though it's not a problem specific to this game. |

I just think the idea that there's no such thing as an ugly win is crazy. Today was definitely one of those days. One positive thing about McDaniels today though is that for as unbalanced as we were in the first half, we made good second half adjustments. _________________

For me this was the frustrating part of the game. The way the Pats offense is presently constructed (all short passing, no outside threat/bad deep balls, average o-line play) is not conducive to lining up in the shotgun every down. Defenses will sit on the short routes and completely mess up the offensive gameplan, just like they did for 3/4 of today.
The offense needs to commit to the run for the whole thing to be effective, rather than freak out after a few stuffed plays and abandon it entirely. Today they won the game by running the ball. _________________

Yeah, I'm not sure why McDaniels drew it up that way. Given the pressure the Dolphins were getting, some more screens or quick hitters would have worked and trying to establish the running game might have slowed down the Dolphins' D |

Ebert was signed by another team I believe
Branch is old and sloppy
Gaffney I think would be suspended if signed by a team for a few days
IDK what other players are out there for WR _________________ Free Max B RIP Stack Bundles

Ebert is on the practice squad
Branch might be old and sloppy but he outplayed Stallworth in camp
Gaffney is suspended for one more week. |
