Had no idea you guys Blazers fans up there. |
Is that Hue Jackson?
Good move by the Raiders. Don't know if it's scheme or what but outside of Wheeler the LBs were hitting the wrong gaps left and right allowing BJGE to get big runs. Which if you watched BJGE is a tough thing for him to do. He had his longest and second longest career runs last week... |
It's not the scheme. It's easy to figure out.
Wheeler is decent.
Burris is a rookie.
McCLain is a whale puke. |
Yeah, it's not the scheme. McClain has been hitting the wrong gap his whole career. |
Wrong gap OR no gap. It's not always the wrong one, sometimes he doesn't hit one at all. He blocks himself with teammates being blocked. |

No Raider fan really wants to think this happened so quickly with yet another high pick. And it's really sad considering we needed a MLB leader sooooo bad, and he was supposed to be a safe pick.
But yes, he was really that bad. Consistently, and I mean consistently when I say it, hitting the wrong gap or hiding behind a lineman. He never made any impact plays, not one, that changed a game. I mean nothing. I think in 3 years he made 4 good hits and tipped like 3 passes. Everything else was a steady stream of loafing.
Plus he never spoke to the media, like a brat. Then he fired off a gun next to a guy's ear in the offseason. Some leader.. |

Yes. This:

Actually happened vs BJGE. He ran into a Bengal OL who was blocking a Raider instead of the hole right next to them and the law firm ran like 40 or 50 yards. Its on NFL.com highlights _________________

oh yeah. he was arguably the worst defender on the worst unit in football. Slow as hell, horrible tackler, missed tons of gaps, no hustle, ect. _________________

It happened every week, for the fan paying close attention. I'm almost not exaggerating when I say every week. Always hiding behind teammates being blocked while waiting for the play.... which then passes him by. And if he had the urge to be aggressive for once, it was the wrong gap 9 times out of 10. That's what it looks like when a lazy poor player guesses rather than reads a play. |

The 00's Raiders are like the Jets of the 70's and 80's, they can't draft to save their lives. Obviously most of that was thanks to Al. It's amazing how some teams are just so bad at it though. _________________

Most of it? What part was due to someone else? |

Rolondo McClain is proof that I have no buisness working in an NFL front office. I think you can probably find a quote of me saying this on the verge of the 2010 NFL draft.
"McClain in the ONLY person who can step right in and fill the shoes of Karlos Dansby".anyway...we wound up picking some scrub named Washington in round two and I have completely forgot that dansby even exists.
what I think is really funny is that JaMarcus Russell actually lasted longer in oakland than McClain did . Don't get me wrong, Russell was definatly a bigger bust, but McClain is also, without question, in the running 2nd worst draft pick of the last ten years. _________________

Not sure what you mean with the bold because a vast majority of Raider fans have been saying he sucks for a long time. _________________

I remember telling myself when the Raiders took him a couple of years ago that Al Davis finally made a great, quality pick in the 1st round.
Shows how much I know... Still though, can't believe they've given up on him this soon. _________________ 44 and 21 Once a Giant, always a Giant

Robert Gallery was supposedly a great pick as well. _________________
