There's no way they ban all low blocks especially since almost every OL uses them at some point. But it'll be an interesting story to watch this offseason. _________________

I doubt anything comes of it.
They always look and they always stay where they are.
Truth is if you read the rules there are several low blocks that are already illegal. They've done a good job limiting legal low blocks to ones that don't have that high a risk of injury (those that come from the front and with no one else taking attention away). The block on Cushing, for example, is illegal under current rules. The refs missed it, but that isn't reason to change the rule. It is there as an illegal peel back block.
I don't see anything happening. _________________

They would almost certainly bar an entire type of player from the league (small, athletic linemen). I can't see this going anywhere. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

Ridiculous considering every team uses a low block. League won't do it, especially, since it doesn't help the offense score points. _________________

The ZBS would become obsolete. This would be terrible for us. _________________

It would be interesting to see if this is true, but keep in mind: people said the same thing about "clipping" when the penalty was first introduced(early 2000s? or was it 90s?) and it turned out Alex Gibbs and everyone adjusted and the Broncos' running game was even better. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

They're not going to ban one-on-one cut blocks for linemen. What they'll do is like how it will be for the college game next year, where only players inside the tackle box on the line of scrimmage can cut. _________________

Not to mention that it would completely limit the blocking ability of a running back. Many times they will try to chop down rushers rather than try to block them.
I can't see this going through. _________________

RB's will have to block man up. Next year in college, only those who are inside the tackle box and on the line of scrimmage can cut block. That will prepare them if the NFL follows their lead, and I'm sure they will. _________________
