I think waiting for him to clear and signing him for minimum for the stretch run can't hurt. I'm sure he's looking to audition for a job somewhere next year. He doesn't need to learn the entire system to get a quarterback on passing downs. He'd sure be better than Jackson in that role. If some other team spends some money for him or offers him an extra year, god bless and we pass. _________________

I think everyone here knows my feeling about getting high priced FAs at the end of their careers. I say "NO" and here's why:
Any team claiming Babin off waivers would have to pay the remainder of the $5.575 million he’s owed this year (approximately $1.65 million), plus $4.225 in 2013 and $6 million in 2014 and ’15.
The Redskins have a youth movement going that is productive and yielding big returns. Once again, I say that we stay away from these aging All-Stars that are only a quick fix and can't benefit us 5 years down the road. We could use the salary cap money for other peices that will help us develop into a serious contenders for years to come. |

Babin is not a player you build a defense around and he certainly is not going to want to perform in a defense that he really didnt do anything in anyway.
While he might come off the cheap, he just does not fit the 3-4 and would be a train wreck if he came in here to do so. At his age, I can imagine he is going to want to go somewhere that can accommodate him.
Its all ready looking like the Patriots are taking a long hard look at him. _________________

Jacksonville claimed Babin
http://m.nfl.com/news/0ap1000000102176/
| Quote: | | The Jaguars claimed former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jason Babin off waivers Wednesday, a source close to the player told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins also placed claims on Babin, but only the Kansas City Chiefs had a higher position in the NFL's waiver-claim priority list than the Jaguars, so he went to Jacksonville. |
I told you all we'd try to get him. We tried to sign him when he was a FA in 2010 to play opposite Rak in the 3-4, but he chose to sign with the Titans. _________________

And we would of made a mistake having Babin since he isn't a 3-4 guy . _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXTNES_L3s0
