Why? |
Dave Birkett tweet. |
Only reason I can think of not to is if we don't have the required cap space. |
Or he isn't viewed as being enough of an upgrade for his contract. |
I doubt that, especially with the little amount of pressure we are getting from our ends. _________________

Does anyone happen to have pressure stats? I ask because Babin has been underwhelming this year. I'd like to see where he matches up. _________________

PFF uses weird ways to calculate pressures and are inconsistent in the way they measure them. Not completely writing them off but I wouldn't put much stock into it. _________________ I <3 Kate Upton and Ezekiel Ansah, just FYI

Why exactly did Philly let him go? They run the same scheme that the Lions do and he's had some decent success in the past. You would think they need all the help they can get considering the position they're in. I just missed their reasoning so I'm curious. _________________

I think it's a youth movement thing. _________________

Isn't he under contract for one more year (if I remember right)? I was a little surprised to see them not try to move him for at least a late pick or something. Of course, that's assuming they didn't try to do so... maybe there was little or no market for him... I don't know. _________________

I would imagine the move was made for several reasons.
A) to send a message to the team.
B) youth movement.
C) Babin recently called Philly fans vile. (Some Philly posters think he may have gotten into argument with staff as well)
As for not trading, I imagine it is a combination of age, contract, and the fact he has only had success in the wide 9. |

Yeah they have Graham, Curry, Hunt, and Tapp along with Cole who all are younger though Babin was more productive than all of them. Plus they're obviously getting ready to rebuild after the season and probably wanted to dump the salary. _________________

It makes sense. They certainly need to evaluate talent going forward and make some significant changes. _________________

It was definitely a youth movement. They want to gauge what they have in Graham & Curry to see if those 2 are their future at DE. They decided to it now, probably because they've given up on Reid and are full rebuild now (they probably say "retool") _________________ I <3 Kate Upton and Ezekiel Ansah, just FYI
