a) Reid earned the rest of this year and it isn't even a question.
b) What would firing Washburn do at this point? Let them finish the year out. If you fire Washburn at this point the linemen will suffer.
Also looks bad on Reid to fire an assistant, then get fired himself a short time later. Firing Washburn won't improve the team. _________________

Where your wrong is in judging a player by your own generic standards when there was so much information available regarding how his assignments worked to give you a true base to go off of. |
My own generic standards? No, I'm basing this off the guy playing opposite of him, you know the guy that is told to do the same thing as him but actually makes an effort in run defense as it shows on the stat sheet. You already said it, Trent Cole is a better run defender than Babin, but this isn't solely about being a better run defender it also is about not being selfish and leaving your team out to dry and making a sound effort, he played one way and one way only. Again, I don't give credit for incomplete work. _________________

It certainly is your own standard. It's obvious you don't understand the system, but you are apparently happier being ingorant. Good luck with that... _________________

Ignorant? I'm well aware of what the system asks them to do. I've bashed the system just as much as I have bashed Babin. But the FACTS are we have another DE that is asked to do the same exact thing yet he manages to contribute to run defense. And it has more to do with effort than being a far superior run defender. Babin has a huge ego to boot and sadly sacks get lauded more than TFL which incentives him to continue doing what he does at the expense of the defense. _________________
