Very surprising, even considering his massive drop in production this year. No question he should get a chance with a new team. Plenty of playoff teams could be giving him a call shortly.
I see the sense in it for the Eagles though. The guy's 32 and not getting any younger and odds are he won't replicate or come even close to replicating that 18 sack season. They have some younger guys that they obviously want to give a look in a lost season and get some NFL games under their belts for next year and beyond. It's been said before that practice only goes for so much; an actual regular season game is where you really expose a player to it and really see what he can do. With Babin gone the Eagles can give young guys like Curry more snaps so they get NFL experience and have a feel for what they can bring next year. Plus, it saves the Eagles a ton of cap space which they can spend in other areas in the offseason. |

| I imagine the Eagles cut him now with the hope someone will claim him and his contract off of waivers |

I wouldn't mind the Packers taking a stab at him and literally just put him on the field to rush the passer in certain situations. _________________ @PJHotel_ |

| Unless there is a real reason they released him like he was bad in the locker room I wouldnt mind the Falcons going after him if he some how clears waivers |

He probably mouthed off to andy reid about him being an idiot for firing juan. _________________

He was a bad influence in the locker room and part of the reason why this season has gone down the toilet. _________________

I think it's a statement to the team, and our young guys can get involved more _________________

Ask him to do anything else and your done. He could probably help a good hand full of playoff teams, including GB. _________________

Babin is really useless in other systems. All he cares about is himself. _________________

He probably deserves to be cut, but this move is still very surprising. _________________

The thing is, I don't think anyone can deny he can get after the QB. So if he wants to go for a ring and you can get him cheap for just this year to come off the edge on pass downs, he could be a steal. _________________

But I really think he is so scheme specific that he wouldn't do us any good. He has failed everywhere except with Jim Washburn. I can't see Dom changing things just so Babin would be confortable. |
