Simply put, is it with the Titans?
He's entering the final year of his rookie deal and is 4th on the team in targets this year.
Will the Titans give him another year to see if he can return to his late 2010/early 2011 form? Or will they cut bait? _________________

He'll definitely be with the Titans next year, and if he shows flashes of being early 2011 Britt, he'll almost certainly be franchise tagged next offseason. I don't know where his future lies beyond 2013, but for the next 21 games, he's nearly guaranteed to be a Titan. _________________

The only way he's not a Titan next year is if he has another bad run in with the law. He's been dealing with nagging injuries all year. _________________

He had an ACL tear, and for most players it usually takes a year or so to get back to 100%, if they ever do. Derrick Morgan was pitiful last year(and he had an ACL tear the year before), but he's really come on strong this year.
Hope the same thing happens with Britt, and yes he will be a Titan next year. |

If you're asking about long-term, my gut says no. I think we play this similar to the haynesworth situation where we keep him as long as we can without giving him a megadeal and then when we can no longer do that, we let him walk. Too many red flags to sink a big salary-cap-jeopardizing deal into him. _________________

If he has a mediocre year...time to buy low, and sign him to a 4 year mediocre contract. _________________

If he's as dumb as his previous actions show... I'd try to extend him right now. Give him enough up front to make it enticing (but not enough to preventing a cut at any point during the contract).
Make the increasing money pretty significant, and add in incentives. If he plays to his potential, he gets the full length of contract and a good chunk of change. If he doesn't, the Titans cut bait without hitting the "cap" too bad. _________________

Britt is under contract in 2013. |
Yes, I think we all understand that. OP mentioned he is entering the final year of his contract (which I understood as entering, as in next year... not entered earlier this year...)
I think/hope he'll be back to his pre '11 injury form next year. After this down year, I'd try to extend him, and offer some pretty big money... just not a ton up front/guaranteed nor superstar money... which may be required if we wait until next offseason, and he does bounce back. _________________
