Amen to that. This team needs playmakers on defense. LB's in a 4-3 defense are ten a penny. |

MLBs like him aren't worth picking even in the second round, brah |
rey played better than anyone we had on defense yesterday, brah |

True. I highly doubt Teo is trying to pound out teenagers like Rey. _________________

The only way taking Te'o makes any kind of sense would be if we're planning on switching full-time to the 3-4 defense. And even then we can find an inside linebacker later on in the draft and would need to address our lack of a 3-4 rush linebacker in the first round with a guy live Jones or Mingo. _________________

Wouldn't mind adding Teo, but the truth is we need pass rushers. We could find a mlb later on in the draft or potentially try Burris there. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we spent two picks on pass rushers nor would I be disappointed. _________________ "Gotta warn ya, being a Raider fan, fire n ice." |

Give me a great pass rusher over a great MLB any day of the week. It would be one thing if our D-line were pretty much set, then going after Teo would make sense, but its not. Build from the trenches out on both sides of the ball. _________________

there's a reason he's the first defensive player to be nominated for a heisman since Woodson...
Yeah, it's called having the best front 7 in college football
IMO on defense it starts with LB's... for as bad as we are defensively i gotta say, having Burris and Te'o in the middle seems like as good a way as any to start rebuilding.
Fundamental football. Build from the trenches out
IMO pass rushers are much easier to find than an elite MLB... there's a reason that the list of elite pass rushers is much longer than the list of elite MLB's...
The list of elite pass rushers is longer because they are more important and get more exposure. How long is the list of elite kickers? Kickers impact the outcome of EVERY game yet kickers aren't drafted high.
What do you guys think of him? Worth a 1st rounder? How high will he go?
Mid-1st based on need |
Honestly, most of us couldn't name the MLB for last 10 Super Bowl winners off the top of their head, yet given the team you would probably remember the edge rusher. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

Couldn't you say the same for a position like left tackle? Kind of a weird argument to make.
Names aren't everything, and that's kind of why were in the mess we are in now. Too many (lol, kind of) skill position players and not enough hogs.
Edit: I do see you pretty much said that too, my bad. I think it's pretty obvious that based on need it lies at o-line or d-line, and it helps that we have no chance at Geno Smith. Like I said earlier though, we could do a lot worse than Te'o.
Anyone have any insight as to how well he would fit into a 3-4 defense? Just curious. _________________

We have a MLB.
He might not be what we wanted, but it's not a need like PASS RUSH or blocking, maybe a CB depending on FA
It's the same thought process with QB. We've got one who's good enough, so unless it's a QB that you can't pass up...
I don't like high picks on LB's, S's or TE's... |

Right now we are headed towards a top-5 selection. If we used that on a MLB, it would be an immense failure. We can't go another season where every QB we face has time to tie his shoelaces before he throws the ball. Do you guys even remember how good we let Gabbert look a few weeks ago? I don't care who your MLB is, you don't win games when you let QBs like Gabbert walk all over you. Lucky for us he couldn't finish the game. Even if we traded back I would want a pass rusher in the 1st. _________________

| Seeing the Raiders only have 4 draft picks hopefully they trade back pick up more picks, then make the pick count when they use it. |
