Eh, offensive lineman are more noticeable when they suck. Our line as a whole deserves mad props today. Two rookies on the left side, I don't even know who started at C, against one of the league's best pass rushing duos, and they got absolutely nothing. I don't care if the stat sheet says Miller got a sack, he was a complete non-factor in this game. The sack was really just the difference between a 0 yard gain on 3rd down and a 2 yard loss on third down. He just cleaned up a play that was already long over. _________________

Well considering we could "potentially" save about 11 million in cap if we dont HAVE to sign Albert is something worth mentioning in my opinion. If Stephenson shows progress this could be a big thing for our organization. _________________

I didn't get to see the game today (traveling back home from Thanksgiving with out-of-state fam) but this is pretty interesting to see Stephenson come away with a solid outing against the Broncos. He is much better suited to LT and that is where I would prefer the Chiefs keep him TBH. What is the time frame for Albert's return?
It would be nice to see more of a sample size from Stephenson and I would definitely still try and re-sign Albert for sure. IF Stephenson could put together a couple of solid outings filling in for Albert at LT, that definitely could help give us a safety net should Albert and his agent have unrealistic expectations. I would have hoped we would have attempted to open negotiations already, especially considering how Pioli kept harping on the need to rollover cap from last year into this year because we had some key UFAs on the roster. I hope he wasn't exclusively talking about Dorsey and Hillis! _________________

I'd still want to keep Albert, even with a high price tag. OL depth has been killing us since Roaf retired. We lose Albert, then we're back to having only two guys even remotely capable of playing OT respectably. Same as if we start Allen at LG right now, I hope we keep Lilja, even if he is just an expensive backup LG/C/RG. Depth would be a very nice thing to finally have, and that's one of the thing that continues to hold back our team. A year ago, if Albert went down, we were screwed. We don't want to be in that same situation next year, but with a different name.
We certainly have the money, anyway. _________________

Hmm. A shotgun based offense with Geno, Bowe, Flash, Baldwin and a line that looks like this...?
Stephenson, Albert, Hudson, Asamoah, Winston
...uhh, yeah. Sign me up. Geno would have all effin' day to throw. _________________

And with Geno's quick release we wouldn't really need to block all that long. |

TBH I think that if we are going to draft a QB number 1 overall (specualting) then it is imperative that we resign Albert. To bring in a rookie qb and not resign Albert, I feel as if we would be slicing our own throats. If Geno or whatever rookie qb comes in and starts and plays like David Carr, Blaine Gabbert, vick etc, because of no offensive line, then like I said we would be slicing our own throats if we don't resign Albert. So, in the off season I hope we address the offensive line and then decide to draft a qb this time around. _________________ http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t64/MV8448/Larry-Johnson.jpg |

I think every chiefs fan agrees that we should re-sign Albert. |

Haha Ryk and I have been big supporters of Stephenson since day 1, and actually have the same plan in mind with what we will do with him, etc.
It's kind of a half joke, but were hoping he can be an elite tackle. _________________

fun to dream, but at this point there is ZERO chance of Albert both re-signing AND moving to G. _________________

Why are we discussing pre draft? I am talking about WHY we ultimately chose Stephenson and Pioli's plan for him. Although things obviously will change with Pioli out the door. _________________
