Former Bills TE Ernie Warlick dies at 80
Warlick was a part of Buffalo's Championship teams of the mid-60s. Here is a spotlight I did on him a few years back:

After playing for North Carolina Central, tight end Ernie Warlick went on to play for the CFL Calgary Stampeders for four seasons. He was a CFL All-Star for three straight seasons (1958-1960). In 1962 he went on to play for the Buffalo Bills. Warlick was one of the most complete tight ends in pro football. He could block and he could catch… and he did them extremely well. He was named to the AFL All-Star team all four years he was in the league (1962-1965). In his eight-year professional career, Warlick made seven All-Star teams between two different leagues. The Bills never had a losing record with Warlick on the roster as they compliled a record of 38-18-3, including two AFL Championships. His 17.2 yards per reception with Buffalo is a franchise record among tight ends. Warlick is a member of the Buffalo Bills 25th Anniversary Team and is arguably the greatest tight end in Bills history. |
RIP Ernie. _________________
