Last time I called Trent out on this forum he shut me up, but seriously dude still doesn't hit the hole like he needs to. He thinks he's Barry Sanders or something. |

In today's game (was there) there were four problems with the way Richardson was used: (1) The D knew the play was to run him...hell, everyone in the stadium knew; and (2) He often was hit behind, at or just over the LOS by unblocked defenders. _________________ Everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen...otherwise, it would happen some other way |

He scored the game winning TD and we are complaining? On a win against the Steelers? Really?
If he runs for 2.9 ypc and we beat the steelers every time, so be it. _________________

I was going to weave in play-calling and lack of an effective passing game but realized they were redundant or causative and didn't go back and change it to two. _________________ Everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen...otherwise, it would happen some other way |

btw: Found it ironic that on one run that he was hit for no gain by two unblocked defenders, an old (or at least older than me, I think) guy sitting near us said: "Jim Brown couldn't run against that". _________________ Everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen...otherwise, it would happen some other way |

trent's stats aren't helped by the play calling. Colt comes in the game with a chance to close out the game with a first down or two. and we run the same lame RB up the middle play 3 times in a row.
Trent gains good yardage almost every time the browns run a toss sweep or a little dump screen to the RB. why we don't do more of this is beyond me. _________________

Part of it is that we are too predictable, enough for teams to run blitz when they know we are going to run. Until we start gashing people consistently in the passing game, people are going to sell out to stop our running game.... _________________ Murray State University Alum: Go Racers

Yeah, the fact that Hardesty had 2 carries and Richardson had 28 today was awful.
I could see it if Richardson was ripping off 6-7 yards per carry and killing the D, but he wasn't.
Should have been 20 to 10 ish IMO. |
Hardesty looked explosive, has for the last few games. However, on a day where the football was hard to hold on to I didn't want to see him carrying the rock. He does have a fumbling issue, and he eventually would have been hit hard. I think he needs to prove he can take care of the football before he gets carries in a tight defensive game, if T-Rich is healthy. |

He's a rookie runner playing a team without much of a passing threat. I don't know what people expect from Trent Richardson this season, but nobody's averaging 5 yards per carry in his situation. Give him a year and put some guys around him, and he's a pro bowl caliber back. _________________

Simply put, no. Jim Brown was wrong.
He is special. Due to a number of circumstances (injuries, rookie-laden offense, lame duck head coach, et. al.), he is not able to fully showcase his abilities. But when he gets the ball, people move forward in their seats. |
