Expected cuts
-Rolando
-Carson Palmer - I just don’t see us getting anything for him despite the Cardinals rumors. It seems like the trade is contingent on Palmer reducing his salary and I don’t’ see it happening.
FA- mind you we have a crap load of bodies to sign to fill our roster and add depth throughout, but the only additional FA of note:
-Tracy Porter CB
-Mike Jenkins CB
-Brandon Lloyd WR
Trades:
Raiders trade 6th round this year and 4th in 2014 for Matt Flynn. This is what I’m hoping the agreed upon compensation is
Trade #3 to the Dolphins for #12 #42 and 2014 2nd rounder.
Why? Miami looks to grab a replacement for Jake Long and jumps at the opportunity to grab Fisher.
Trade #12 to the 49ers for #31 & #34 and # 94 (late 3rd)
Why? Dolphins are sitting right in front of Tampa whom covets a CB. Niners could use this pick for Desmond Trufant or Vacarro if they wish to replace Goldson
DRAFT
Round 1 Cornelius Caradine DE FSU
I want to come away from this draft with “Tank” more than any other player. Prior to his injury he was a top 10 lock. Grabbing him at the end of round 1 would be nothing short of a coup. It’s no secret that the Raiders have a horrendous need for pass rushers. Caradine offers the most bang for our buck.
Round 2 Jonathon Cyprien S FIU
Quite possibly my favorite S prospect for the Raiders. Though I like Elam’s game, I feel like Cyprien would make a better FS despite pundits labeling him as a Strong Safety. Amazing athlete, with a lot of versatility, can play in the box or single high. Can react fast and come up from the deep 1/3 to make plays in the run-game. Plus you know we got a REALLY long look at Cyprien during the Senior Bowl.
Round 2 DJ Fluker OT Alabama
The humongous RT finally solidifies the right side of our line. The power running game is going to be our bread and butter. McFadden has a field day until the inevitable injury
Round 3 Robert Alford CB Southeastern Louisiana
Speedy and physical corner. Excellent in zone coverage.
Round 3 Brandon Williams DT Missouri Southern
We’ve talked about Williams alot here, but I think it makes a whole lot of sense. Big athletic NT, got first hand look at him during Senior Bowl. Would really help solidify our interior D-line
Round 4 Brian Winters OG Kent State
Big, tough, physical man. 6-4 320. Drops in the draft due to injury. Played OT but projects to being a very good guard. Brings much-needed attitude and grit to our offensive line. Lining this mammoth next to Veldheer is truly terrifying.
Round 6 Zac Stacy RB Vanderbilt
Compact frame w/ good speed, He’d make a helluva 1-2 combo with McFadden and could possibly be a feature back down the road.
Round 7 David Bass DE Missouri Western State
Small school sleeper. Great measurable and dominated his competition. Phenomenal (granted against inferior competition) pass rusher, would make a good situational pass rusher
OT-Veldheer
G- Winters (rookie)
C-Wiz
G-Briesel (meh, but we’re paying the man)
OT-Fluker (rookie)
TE-Ausberry (meh, but no other options)
WR-Lloyd
WR- Moore
WR-Streater
RB- McFadden/Stacy
FB- Reece
QB-Flynn
Returner-Ford
LE-Houston
DT-Walker
DT-Sims/Williams (rookie)
RE- Carradine (rookie)
WLB- Maiava/Burris
MLB-Nick Roach
SLB-Burnett
FS-Cyprien (rookie)
SS-Branch
CB-Porter
CB-Jenkins
CB-Alford (rookie)
CB-Adams
Not a bad squad. Still really weak at TE/CB and some would say QB lol.
Offensive line and run defense become strengths for this team.

#12 to the 49ers for #31
They better give up both 2nd rounders for that kind of move. _________________

I know the value chart is not the definitive trade guide, but actually looking (after posting the mock) we are actually getting more value than SF
#12 = 1200
#31= 500
#34= 560
#42= 480
value 1540
the difference equals 340 (which is actually a late round second) |

#34=560
#94=124
1284 (we are still getting more value than SF) |

Trades seem good and reasonable. Miami seems like the most likely trade partner at this point for us. SF only because they have so many picks and would seem to want to bundle and move up.
Love the Tank pick. He's my favorite prospect and best pass rusher when healthy. Also like the Williams pick. The hype has seemed to have died down on him and the 3rd round is about where he should go IMO. |

4 starters with our first 4 picks would be huge. DJ Fluker in the 2nd would have me doing backflips in my living room. Nice draft! _________________

If this happens I will be ecstatic. Great idea. Carradine was the consensus #1 DE before his unfortunate injury. Cyprien is going to be one of the best FS from this draft. He is a beast. DJ Fluker would finally be that RT we've been waiting for. He is a gamer and from an incredible program.

I could live with it.
I think you reached on Tank, you could probably get him with the second, second round pick.
I like Fluker but I think he is a G in the NFL, possibly a better guard than Warmack. I feel like he could play tackle, but he would never be better than average and would need to be on a run-heavy team. I would like the Fluker pick more if you didn't draft Winters in the 4th, maybe a RB or another CB there.
I love Alford and Williams, I had them in my early mock before the combine and they haven't disappointed in the pre-draft process.
Cyprien is a good pick also, and I love your trades to acquire all these picks. _________________

| Love the draft. It's hard to predict two trades like that in the first round. |
