We'll disagree on this until the end of our lives. I think the talent is fine. I mean Juan made our Defense look fantastic for the first 3 quarters, if our pass rush didn't suddenly disappear it could have been amazing.
I don't think talent is the issue regarding ST. It just seems like most of our backups just doesn't have the mentality to play ST. I mean have anyone really noticed Chaney or Matthews in a good way on ST? Polk had a fumble, but prior to that the best thing he had done was holding his lane, and even that he failed at at other times.

We will leave that up to Trolland.
"Upgrade everything" should basically be the mentality in any year, not just for rebuilding. We should always be trying to maximize the talent on this roster, whether starter or practice squad.

PFF says Maclin has been atrocious this year. He can't be upgraded?

While true, we don't know how much the linebackers will be used. If we bring in a 34 coach, an OLB is absolutley a bigger need than a WR upgrade. Hell theres no guarentee Kendricks sticks on the strongside and may be kicked to the weakside in a 4-3, so we just don't know.

They have also said Evan Mathis has been the best guard in football this season, or at least top 5 IIRC, and killdawabbit used PFF in his Nate Allen > Earl Thomas crusade which we all know was a bad argument. Using PFF to justify football points is like wiping with sandpaper after taking a crap. I'm not saying Maclin can't be upgraded, we can upgrade just about everywhere, but PFF sucks.

Just watch the other games around the league.
Look at that wonderful catch Torrey Smith just made that probably won Baltimore this game.
Neither Jackson nor Maclin would ever, EVER make that play.
Therefore, we can do better at WR. Get someone who can make that play. Since Jackson sells jerseys and signed the contract, Maclin has to go. We can do better at Maclin. We shouldn't settle for "fine".

I'm not the only one saying it. Our roster has so called big talent which isn't performing, but on the other hand, we've got a lot of players on our roster who just aren't good enough to be on NFL rosters. That is on the people in charge of personnel.
