I was thinking about trying to bring some hype back, and pretend that there was actually a shot of winning this one. Then I realized that would just set everybody up for more disappointment. A win today may not be the biggest upset of the year, but it wouldn't be that far off. So, let's try this.
Things are really as bad as it seems. There's a UDFA starting at LT, a vet that plays like a UDFA starting at RT, a UDFA swing tackle, the backup guard starting at LG, the backup 7th round undersized C as the swing guard, and that's just the problems with the OL. Should be a good time. _________________

Royal, Green, and Rosario all have hamstring injuries. English has a calf injury. Rex Hadnot will start at left guard in place of Green, and Michael Harris is starting at left tackle for Jared Gaither (groin, injured reserve) |
It's time they start getting Mouton and Taylor some reps to see what they got. Not sure if Rosario is hurt, or if they want to give Green some time. _________________

May the football gods spare Rivers the wrath of Suggs. _________________

| Did the Chargers seriously give up a 4th and 29? What a mess. |

3-0 start, 1-7 since. Any other team would be smart enough to fire everybody from the GM down, but we're stuck with them. _________________

Puzzling that we fired a coach that went 14-2 for not enough success in the playoffs and are keeping Norval for so many years _________________

Meanwhile despite my prior suspicions, Rivers isn't going to break the record for most times sacked in a single season... but he may yet come damn close.
After today's game he's been sacked 32 times in 11 weeks.. He's presently on pace to fall just shy of 50, but the way the line has been trending lately (and with Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Charles Johnson - I'm really not counting Carolina outside of maybe him and Keuchly still on the schedule) it's certainly possibly the get themselves over that hump. _________________

Most times sacked in a game is 12. Most sacks by an individual player in a game is 7. There's still hope.
They still have to make up for the games that Gaither started too. _________________

Does Meachem even see the field?
Weddle concussed. _________________

That's no good at all.
I think all of the garbage is overshadowing that Rivers had a pretty good game. No turnovers. He was really careful with the ball. All that while getting sacked 6 times. _________________

Knew that was going to be the case.
Not saying it was a dirty block from Boldin (a block in the back that should have been called perhaps), but he put his shoulder right into the base of Weddle's skull. I won't be shocked to see Boldin get fined for it since he basically blindsided Weddle and could have conceivable gone lower with little additional effort and the same effect. _________________

In addition to Weddle, the post game injury report has 8 more guys on it, including Butler (groin), Stuckey (hamstring; in the 1st half), Liuget (tibia; yikes!), Bigby (groin), Garay (thigh), Clary (thigh), Barnes (hamstring; re-aggravation of a previous injury, but he played through it), and Alexander (thigh). _________________
