falcons fan, but lions have always been my #2 team since obtaining calvin johnson since he grew up like 10 minutes from me and obtaining my favorite UGA player of all time, stafford. But i was wondering, is jim on the hot seat????? _________________

Short answer: no not this year. He just signed a contract extension this last off season. _________________

He signed an extension so I highly doubt his job is in question this season. _________________

I don't think he is, and I don't think he should be. _________________

I think he gets one more season before he has to worry too much about being on the hot seat unless the wheels completely fall off the truck next season. While we have improved our talent level significantly, we don't have quite enough talent to be a team that could make a deep playoff run. The interior of our o-line, DEs, and secondary all need work. We could use another WR that is over 6-feet tall to help us move the chains more effectively late in the game. |

He took over an 0-16 team.
1st year- 2-14
2nd year 6-10
3rd year- 10-6
4th year 4-7
We obviously took a step back this season and haven't lived up to expectations, but I see no reason why he should even be on the hot seat. |

I think we should throw a F-350 sized truck full of money at Sean Payton. Fire 'em All! |

He, much like our team, is very mistake prone.
But, unfortunately, no. Until either he stops making stupid mistakes or we get a head coach that doesnt make stupid mistakes, we are always going to be the team that beats itself. _________________

Unfortunately no.
Our whole organization seems to be dead-bent on this continuity thing, even though recent history suggests its overrated.
I think he should be and that how we end this season should determine whether or not he stays, but Mayhew wont care. I personally dont like going into a season with a coach on the hot seat as it never seems to turn around.
Jim did a great job at trying to change this culture but I honestly think hes maxed out what he can do for us. I think its gonna take a new staff to take us to the next level. _________________ Team Stylish

He has this team in position to win most weeks. I think a coordinator gets the axe first and then if things stagnate he may find himself on the hot seat. I think he deserves at least 1 more year.
STL - tough win
SF - brutal loss no Leshoure, Broyles, or Reiff)
TEN - lost by 3 in OT on the road( big plays for TEN, 2 kick returns)
MIN - we dominated ( 2 kick return TDs)
PHI - win ( a team in shambles worse than us)
CHI - Loss(13-7)
SEA - solid win ( I thought we turned the corner. played well)
JAC - dominant ( 2 in a row)
MIN - loss ( close until AD got going!!)
GB - killer loss (chance to close it out but cant go up by 10)
HOU - demorilizing loss ( multiple chances to win with lead)
I see 3 games that we lost but i see 4 that we shoulda, coulda, but didnt win. We should probably be 7-4 or 8-3 at this point but have some bad breaks(refs, poor execution, timely penalties). We got alot of good breaks last year! |

I really can't imagine Schwartz being in the hot seat.......yet.
Detroit is his first head coaching job and a great deal of his early focus has been player development. People forget that Schwartz himself is still developing as a head coach. As a result he will make mistakes along the way. _________________
