Didn't we give a draft pick up for Salas?
I realize that most mid-late round picks don't make the roster, let alone contribute, but when a guy has been in the NFL and you have tape on him and you trade for him, he should do something besides sit on the PS and get cut. _________________

Maybe someone is just not performing well in practice? _________________

That was my point.
If you feel comfortable giving up a pick for a guy with NFL film on him, (and wasn't McDaniels also his coach?), he should absolutely pan out. Again, I realize that it's unrealistic to expect every fourth round draft pick to be Hernandez or sixth round pick to be Tom Brady, but if they have NFL film, and your OC coached the kid for a season, he should pan out, and contribute SOMETHING. _________________

Hopefully he wont be claimed. Its to bad. It looks more like bad timing for his releases. The first one i doubt he gets released if we didnt have Hernandez hurt and need a guy that knew the playbook immediately(Branch). And now we need an OLman and he's most expendable. We aren't going to release any other WR and w/ 1 TE down and the other unable to block and first game back we need others that can block.
Edit: A bit surprised Zuse wasn't active if they made this move. Hopefully Salas makes it to PS but based on rumors he wont. _________________

A 7th rounder in 2015. Essentially nothing. The odds of Salas helping the team this year (or next if he sticks with the team) were/are better than the odds of a 7th rounder 3 drafts from now contributing anything. |

Alright well that changes things a bit. I thought it was a 5th round pick for some reason. _________________

This was the last day to add Zucevics to the roster, so today was the day to do it regardless of whether he'd be active or not. He's not your average UDFA. He was a 4th-5th round guy according to some people before his injury. |

He was a pretty solid sleeper prospect IMO before the injury. Could be a useful piece as a backup G next year and possibly a starter down the line |

Pats will likely need to add a WR from somewhere unless they're sure Edelman will be ready to go vs. Miami. The only in-house option would be Kamar Aiken and both Branch and Gaffney are gimpy. |

So much for having a young wide receiver going into this offseason. _________________

I hope we bring in a few WR's for workouts this week. Some intriguing, albeit uninspiring, names are out there. Mike Williams, Deon Butler, Jason Hill, etc. |
