Philly horrible worst ive ever seen and a month ago they where just #1 in the division. |
^^^This is exactly why we should cut Nnamdi.
Overpaid over-the-hill players = Washington Redskins.
Let's not become that, God, please. |
Who then do you advocate we play at corner?
Nnamdi spoke candidly and truthfully recently to the Philly reporters, and showed a willingness to take a pay cut in order to stay here. That would be the best option IMO. |
I want our team to build through the draft and develop players.
If that means we have to endure a season with steaming garbage at corner? I'm for it.
Try to find the Lito+Sheldon again. _________________

The point is we drafted Lito and had to trade for DRC.
We should find guys in the draft. And yes preferably someone who tackles. _________________

I don't think Lito's career can be properly compared to DRC's so far because Lito faced injury and was replaced by Asante while he still was decent. _________________

Lito was pretty bad for like 2 or 3 straight years before he was replaced. That said he had some good seasons here too. He was the ultimate hot and cold player for us.
Sheldon on the other hand was a stud, I miss that dude. He was the most underrated corner in football over the past 10 years. _________________

Didn't he also destroy Steven Jackson that season? He hit Steven Jackson so hard he went airborne and his helmet flew off. _________________

It was Sheldon, but it wasn't the same year, it was like 2 years later. _________________

So because we drafted Lito?
Don't overpay in FA and overpay with your trades and I couldn't care how we got our players _________________

No, you didn't hear? The Eagles secondary was all putting money into a big pot, and if they won Powerball, they would split it. One of their "numbers" was drawn tonight, and they were all super-excited, and Nnamdi announced his retirement. Well, this time it was Nate Allen's turn to buy the tickets, and guess what? He blew his assignment. |

Hopefully once the wide 9 is gone, we won't need our safeties in the box so much helping with run support. Then Nnamdi can jam the hell out of everybody knowing he has help. That is if our safeties don't screw that up too. We need Jairus Bird and Eric Reid!! BangBang!! _________________

Wide-9.
As bad as Allen and Coleman have been this year, they weren't nearly that bad before this year.
We can't forget they're pretty young guys. I forget when Coleman arrived but Nate Allen was drafted when McDermott was still coordinator. Then came Castillo, then Bowles.
Some continuity would do wonders for Nate, and maybe even Coleman. The wide-9 asks too much of our safeties, and I think they've gotten the brunt of its negative effects.
You can't have a system that allows defensive ends to abandon outside contain, the run, etc. and expect your safeties to fill that void.
You can't have that system and simultaneously make your safeties responsible for the deep part of the field.
How can you ask a player to do that and expect them to NOT bite on play action? They get the blame if they're late on run support, then they get the blame if they're not where they're supposed to be in the secondary.
It only works when the front 4 gets to the QB so fast that it takes away long developing plays. We can't get that pressure, which is allowing offenses to completely abuse our safeties.
And now Bowles might be gone from coordinator? This defense hasn't had any consistent coordination and it's showing, hard. As much as we chastise Allen and Coleman I wouldn't hesitate to say that a majority of their problems are from the system that asks too much of them and also from the rotating door at defensive coordinator.
Scrap the wide-9, I'm so tired of it. _________________
