S-T #Bears Blog: Could RT Gabe Carimi be replaced as a starter by Jonathan Scott? Sure sounds like a change is coming
|
| Quote: | Gabe Carimi - T - Bears The Bears are considering benching RT Gabe Carimi for veteran Jonathan Scott.
A bottom-10 tackle in Pro Football Focus' rankings, Carimi got flat out embarrassed by 49ers DE Aldon Smith in Monday night's loss, getting tossed around like a rag doll. Carimi is less than two years removed from being the No. 29 overall pick, but unless he's playing injured, there's simply no excuse for the way he performed in Week 11. A change is likely coming for Week 12. |

And people on here were saying we'd give him the rest of next season as well... _________________

Whoever starts at RT is going to get killed by Jared Allen anyway. But yeah, well done Angelo, another superb first round pick. _________________

How on earth could he start a game after his performance last week? He didn't look like "a rookie" or like he's "learning the pro game". He was embarrassed and humiliated on almost every play. If he starts he's going to get someone injured. _________________

I am all for time for a young player.
But the problem is that Carimi is not even competitive out there right now and all we are doing is hurting QBs and killing his confidence.
Sitting Carimi is the right move. _________________

Carimi was almost universally loved on draft day on this board. I don't seem to remember a lot of people carrying a torch for Derek Sherrod. _________________

Hmm. Do you guys think now that Rachal has been placed on the reserve/left squad list that Carimi will be moved to LG and Scott to RT? _________________

Yeah we can't blame Angelo, almost everyone loved the pick and were devastated when we lost him last season. _________________ Martellus Bennet highlight video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lP8fHN53t0 |

Yeah but Scott has never failed in a Bears uniform, so he'll get the benefit of the doubt until he allows a sack. _________________

Thats not something to brag about, haha, 1. Rodgers is one of the few QB's who gets sacked more than Cutler, 2. Sherrod has pretty much been beat out by a late round pick(Newhouse) for the past 2 years to begin with _________________
