Not like we provided him any help last season on defense. It's a problem when your big acquisitions to bolster a defense that feel apart last season where Bill Bentley, Drayton Florence and Jacob Lacey.
He's just doing the best he can with the little he's been given. _________________

Gunther did just fine. We played a great defensive game against a great offensive team. _________________

Gave up 34 points.
I don't care what offense you're playing, that's not a good game defensively. _________________

We gave up 27 points, 24 of those in regulation. Aside from a few big plays the defense played pretty well. _________________

That's a pretty silly way to judge the performance of a coordinator. _________________

I wanted so much to post here when 'you-know-what' happened in this game.
Alas, I was not at a computer.
Terrible call(s) in an otherwise (in my opinion) well-played game. _________________

Considering 7 shouldnt have been scored at all, and the 3 from an overtime that shouldnt have happened, our defense is only at fault for 24 points. Against the Houston offense, thats damn good. _________________

Don't forget the defense choked when they needed a stop the most in the 4th quarter.
How are people going to say 24 points is good? That's average, at best for any defense, against any offense. _________________

Our secondary is like a boat made of nothing but band aids, yet it held it's own against one of the best WRs and one of the best RBs in the game. _________________

Why in the world did the coaches take the ball out of Stafford's hands on that final drive? And why in the world did we kick it on 3rd down? _________________

Always kick it on 3rd down in OT if you have the chance.
That way if you muff the snap, etc. you get another try at it on 4th. _________________

If the snap is botched on third down, the holder can fall on it and kick it again on fourth down. It's a pretty common tactic in sudden death situations. _________________

Okay. I still don't get why they ran it twice after the Scheffler 1st down. Stafford played well today and you take it out of his hands. Trust him. 47 yards isn't a chip shot... _________________
