Sorry fellas (and Roxy, wherever you are), no photoshop. I'm in MI getting ready for my visit to Ford Field (Thanks DieHard). But, you will get a winning GDT, and my first of 6 regular season GDT's (then playoffs).
On Turkey Day, 2012, we have a bitter rivalry between the Houston Texans and the Detroit Lions. No, they are not bitter towards each other, but towards both of their 2002 first round ultra-busts. With Texans manning the first overall pick and the Lions manning the 3rd, both were looking to take their franchise quarterbacks to lead their present and future.
On this Turkey Day, we are not going to refer to these teams as the Texans and the Lions. No. They are now, for this week only, the David Carr's and the Joey Harrington's.
vs
We want to win this game for all the Joey's out there who have been waiting for a Thanksgiving win for.... as long as I can remember.
David Carr's visit the Joey Harrington's at Joey's shack in the middle of Harrington City, Michigan.
This game will be played on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 1:00 E.T.

First good news of the week:
Louis Delmas and Corey Williams both practiced today. Jeff Backus, Titus Young, and someone else that I can't remember did not.
Chris Houston stretched on the sidelines with the trainer. _________________

For once in my life I'd like to see the Lions win a Thanksgiving day game. They really should win almost all of them. 3 days of rest for the home team should be a substantial advantage.
Give something the fans can be happy about this holiday. _________________

This is his 13th year and he hasn't missed a start since he was drafted. Long time. _________________

Disagree some. Not going by boxscore but by actually watching. Not sure how you ranked
1. Seattle was easily his best game of year
2. Min game 2
3. Jags
4. Philly QB rating off but ton of dropped balls
5. Min game 1
6. Ten
7. SF
8. Chi
9.GB

Yeah, Texans are toast in this one. The last two weeks, we've had two brutal matchups: Against the Bears in a slopfest out in Chicago, and then an unsuspecting brawl with a very physical rival in the Jacksonville Jaguars. That OT game was a real beatdown from a physical sense, both sides throwing and taking a lot of punches.
A few injury notes:
- The Texans will probably be without the services of Jonathan Joseph, who will be nursing a hamstring injury. CB Alan Ball will be starting in his place.
- Backup RB Ben Tate has been dealing with a hamstring issue since week 3, and no word on whether or not he's ready; He missed the team walk through, and he's probably slated to miss another game. RB Justin Forsett will be looking to get some work, as Arian Foster has back-to-back 25+ carry games, and keeping him fresh is vital to future success.
- ILB Tim Dobbins is also nursing some ailments, which is actually a good thing - this opens the door for ILB Daryl Sharpton to make his first start since coming off the PUP list last week. In last week's game, Sharpton accounted for several tackles, as he served a spark as a run stopper that we haven't had since Brian Cushing was lost for the year with a torn ACL.
- NT Shaun Cody has beeen battling several ailments; In addition to back issues, he has been dealing with some broken ribs, and even suffered a small puncture to his lungs. NT Earl Mitchell saw the start and rotated with DE/NT Jared Crick, and look for that rotation to continue if Cody is listed as out for this game.
All in all - the Texans are beaten and bruised, without their top CB, top offensive reserve and a key DL. The last two weeks, they've been able to gut out some wins in lieu of weather and injury, but asking for three weeks in a row (with the 3rd week coming on four days rest) is asking too much for any team, even one with Super Bowl aspirations.
Lions, 31-7. _________________
