Coach Jim Harbaugh expects Alex Smith (concussion) to get cleared "before the week is out."
| Quote: | The only thing that stopped Smith from starting Monday's game against the Bears was the "contact test," the final step in the concussion protocol. So he's almost certainly going to get the go-ahead for Week 12. The bigger question is if Harbaugh will go back to Smith or if he'll ride the more dynamic skill set of Colin Kaepernick. "It's the opposite of a controversy," Harbaugh said Wednesday. "We've got two good guys." We're not sure exactly what that means other than the Niners haven't announced a starter yet for Sunday's game in New Orleans.

The half-back pass that almost was. Stuff like that I just dont get. I mean its ok to throw in a wrinkle every now and again but that could have been costly if Hunter would have tossed that out there. _________________

When the normal offense is working well you don't need to mix in the trick plays. Every now and then Roman looks like he puts all the play into a grab bag and then just reaches in a grabs one at random. _________________

I've read it being said on FF, but there is a chance Harbaugh could use Alex Smiths concussion as a reason to 'rest' him another week allowing the team to start Kaep in order to gauge this science experiment we have going on. Nothing like a controversy in the middle of the season to really spice things up. Like they say though, "iron sharpens iron." _________________

That sure sounds like it's going to be doomed to fail. Surprising to learn that Jim chews...disgusting. _________________

I don't like the idea..... |
That's poop. Taken way out of context.
| Quote: | Alex Smith & Colin Kaepernick are six draft classes apart but Smith only is 2 1/2 years older. Harbaugh noted ...
... their relative youth today while bandying quarterback questions with reporters.
Said Harbaugh: "This isn’t one of those situations where you have the aging starting quarterback and everybody’s clamoring for the young backup quarterback, or a struggling guy, they want the next guy, or the young guy’s in there struggling and people are clamoring for the popular backup. We have two really good guys, and that’s the way we feel about it." |
They were asking questions. And he was just being him normal self...
They were asking questions. And he just say well they could.
I don't think there's a chance he rolls with that idea. _________________ ***WE RUN THE WEST!***

Agreed, with a clear separation from 1-4 and 5-8. Although I'd put jets at 5, Vikings at 6 |
Agreed with you. |
Interesting. That "ranking" of mine was in fact just a list of his weekly QBR from best to worst. Yes, the infamous ESPN stat. I'm conducting a little forum wide experiment with this just to get an idea of if I could actually put some value in QBR, because if the fans are agreeing with ESPNs "rankings" of the games then I may actually start to value them. _________________

Remember when I said if Kaep played well Smith may never start again and everyone dismissed it like it was complete and total nonsense? Well look what happened. _________________

You were right my man, but I don't know exactly how I feel about this just yet LOL. It is a huge risk but with potentially a huge pay off. _________________

I'm not sure if it's allowed on the sidelines or not, but I've seen Jim with a big wad in his mouth a couple times. _________________

Yeah, a lot of people think its nonsense, but I look at things like those rankings there and then the rankings of all the QBs in the league, and each time I say to myself - this just looks right. _________________
