Cleveland won't do it because we're about to play them but I would do it in a heartbeat. |
No...just...no. |
oh God, Dook must hate the Steelers more than the Browns! haha
But seriously, sucks to hear you lost another QB. Thats not cool for any fan base. Lucky for you guys you have Charlie Batch who knows the offense better than the coaches. haha. He still has something in the tank... I think Batch will do a great job. _________________

From Rapoport:

As a Patriot fan I always liked Hoyer. Thought he was a better QB than mallett and could've been a starter somewhere pretty surprised no one signed him tbh. _________________

Hoyer would be an excellent signing and one Id also like moving forward if possible because Batch is almost a senior citizen and Leftwich is brittle as ever. _________________

I think they sign Kafka ( who would be the #2 on the Eagles if he were not injured in the pre-season) and Burress. Who goes on IR will be interesting. _________________

This season was filled with bad luck and rebuilding. It's been a very important season in some respect, because we know where we are now with the likes of that front seven, and we know it's time to retool. We need every draft pick to fix that front seven and find a safety/CB.
We do need an upgrade at backup QB though. I don't get why Batch is still around, other than he knows the playbook. And I never got the point of Leftwich to begin with. Yeah, it's nice to have a guy with his pedigree on the bench, but you seem to forget that if he plays 10 minutes of football, he's probably going to miss three weeks with an injury. We can just get Matt Cassell as a backup in the off season. |
???
That front 7 that leads the league in total yards, defense against the pass and among the best vs the run. The same front 7 that just limited the Ravens to under 200 total yards, 42 yards rushing, no offensive touchdowns? We could use more pressure its true but you make it sound like they are helpless. |
Who got embarrassed by the likes of Carson Palmer, and couldn't stop Matt Hassellbeck? They had a few good performances this year too, but so much of it is smoke and mirrors, or playing against struggling QBs. Can we really be that impressed with the Giants game after what the Bengals did to them the week after? I don't buy this as a top defense, and I don't buy their front seven. We're garbage when it comes to sacking the QB and we're garbage when it comes to turnovers.
Just looking at the numbers, are you seriously going to tell me that this defense is better than SF or Houston, just because we're at the top of the league in total defense (at the moment)? SF has the kind of front seven that Pittsburgh defenses are known for. They can go out there and legitimately humiliate any QB. We cannot.
We lack a truly dominant player on our defense with Harrison/Polamalu/Woodley all hurt or playing hurt for most of the season. And no one inside being that much better than average. |

| But also turnovers are about getting lucky. Which one would you prefer; a very consistent and stable defense or opportuntistic defense? One factor into two losses to titans and raiders we were more opportuntistic and gambled a bit. We don't have the talent to play top-tier defense but we sure are more disciplined. Right now I'm just sticking to disciplined defense until we land some playmakers in off-season. Yes our team is being crippled badly but playoff is still very doable. Outside of Texans every AFC teams are very beatable. |
