Wouldn't surprise me if he's starting next season even if he plays poorly.

| Anyone think the Jags may target Barkley or go with the oline and DBs? I personally don't think Gabberts careers is over in Jacksonville, he'll start next year. I really don't think Henne will do well enough in the next 6 games. |

I think Henne is a guy that could be a decent-level starter for you guys for a few seasons if you miss out on a premiere QB this draft. He wouldn't be a bad guy to have as a starter while your new regime grooms another QB.
Unfortunately I think he'll get the short end of the stick like Matt Moore did from the Dolphins this season. Jacksonville will select a QB like Barkley with their first pick and despite the fact Henne will finish the season strong, he'll have virtually no hope of winning the ensuing QB competition.

I like the first part of that very much. I think it's a solid situation. Henne provides okayish QB play for a year...we draft a project (hopefully the right one) in the 2nd/3rd round. Let the guy actually sit for a year and learn the mechanics and tempo of playing in the NFL. Get up to speed on the chalk talk, etc. I'm no huge Henne fan, but his play in the last 2 games has opened up the idea that he may be serviceable in the interim.
However...if we draft Barkley with our first pick...

i'm with you on this one...i'd almost rather pick somewhere around 3 or 4 and hope geno & barkely are off the board so that the temptation is gone & have to "settle" for jones

Barkley doesn't deserve to go in the first round at all. Wilson and Geno are the top 2 QBs in this class currently imo and that's it in the top tier.
