What this is:
This is a game where members will work in teams of 2 to reconstruct the Philadelphia Eagles.

They will receive ratings from 1 star (*) to 5 star (*****) grades in terms of projected success and realism.

The scenario
An unhappy Jeff Lurie roars in disappointment...

Jeff Lurie has just fired EVERYONE. He has cleaned house. He is done with the Andy Reid era and has fired EVERYONE.

He is completely at a loss. His buddy Andy Reid has had control of the football team and so now Lurie is a bit worried his fit of rage may have cost him billions in team value.

But Lurie is a smart man. And he knows there are bright, young minds out there who could help this team. So he has two positions:

Team President
General Manager

Lurie will hire a team of two men from Footballsfuture to reconstruct the Philadelphia Eagles. Two minds are better than one, and football being the ultimate team sport, why should it not apply to the front office?

How to play:

Fill out an >>APPLICATION<< (SEE BELOW).

Go through the applications and find a partner that you think shares your vision for the new Eagles team.

There is no timetable for submissions, mocks are to be posted at your leisure and with a poll for grading:
Code:
* (this should never happen)
** (needs work)
*** (neither happy nor mad)
**** (solid)
***** (perfection)

Mocks will be linked and kept here. Anybody can join at any time. You may update your mocks, just let us know the latest developments.

The Eagles will have the 3rd overall pick:

I think it wakes sense for us to come up with a consistent starting point, for record and draft pick. Basically we go off the same sim all the way til Black Monday when Andy is Fired.

It makes it easier to compare what each team does and makes it more realistic because we really don't have a great shot at 1st or 2nd overall....which effects who we can get, but obviously you could trade up if you felt the need.

Right now we are 6th overall, but that will change. I took a swing at what will happen with the five teams above us. We finish at 4-12 and the 3rd overall pick. With all the mediocre to bad teams we play the rest of the way our Strength of Schedule will be the lowest so we go above the Browns and Panthers. If the Jags play like they did against Houston and we lose all the game we could get #2 but felt this was more realistic.

On a similar note it would be helpful if we could all decide which coaching staffs get canned. Obviously we're all getting rid of Andy.

Cleveland Browns will fire their staff
Carolina Panthers will fire their staff
San Diego Chargers will fire their staff
Kansas City Chiefs will fire their staff
Arizona Cardinals will fire their staff
Buffalo Bills will fire their staff

Is that agreeable?

I would say wait a few days but if you find a compatible partner just to on ahead. PM people if they haven't signed up and you want to work with them.

Announce teams in here, best reconstruction wins a trophy.

Preference for Offense or Defense: Offense, as much as I really love Defense...the rebuild needs to start with the O

Ideal current NFL coach (specific name or describe type): a coach who is willing to adapt around what he has. A guy who won't alienate players, but knows how to get them fired up. Sean Payton or Jim Harbough come too mind.

Ideal coach for the Eagles (specific name or describe type): Rick Dennison, the Texans' offense would work tremoundously here with Shady and Bryce being utilized much more. And he played Linebacker for 8 years in the NFL so he has experience on both sides of the ball.

What is the most important position in football: Quarterback

What is the most important position of improvement on the Eagles: OL

On a scale of 1 to 5, how much control should the head coach have in football decisions: 4, he needs to be able to make his team...but needs someone who isn't a yes man to get him in check a bit.

What do you look for in draft prospects: I look for elite players regardless of position or at least potential to be elite. And I look for love of the game, leadership qualities, and how they play when things aren't going well.

What do you look for in prospective coaches: Overall knowledge of the game, flexibility, and how they interact and get the most out of their players.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how aggressive will you be in free agency: 2, it's usually not a great idea to spend money in FA. But there are some great young players hitting the market at positions of great need so grabbing one of them would help tremendously in the rebuilding process.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how aggressive will you be in trading for draft picks: 4, if there is a chance we can land another elite player I go for it.

What makes you qualified to lead reconstruction: My team will be the prettiest team (Graphics), I usually am on the right sides of arguments and realize we are going to need a couple years til we can start thinking Super Bowl again. We must continue making a foundation besides Shady.

***Application***

Name: marky_b27

Favorite 2012 Draft Prospect: Luke Joeckel

Preference for Offense or Defense: Defense wins championships

Ideal current NFL coach (specific name or describe type): Mike Tomlin - apart from looking like the guy from House, he came in and let the coordinators do their jobs. I prefer my Head Coach not to be a playcaller.

Ideal coach for the Eagles (specific name or describe type): I prefer my Head Coach not to be a playcaller. He needs to motivate the players and get them playing their best.

What is the most important position in football: QB

What is the most important position of improvement on the Eagles: QB

On a scale of 1 to 5, how much control should the head coach have in football decisions: 2 - The coach should coach, the front office should get him the best players to coach in his system

What do you look for in draft prospects: Willingness to learn and be coached, ability to fit into a system, willingness to hit or be hit

What do you look for in prospective coaches: Someone who can get the best out of their players, get them to play their best and treat them like professionals - so holding them accountable for their actions.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how aggressive will you be in free agency: 2 - look for the players which fit your system, but don't pay over the odds for them. Free Agency should be the icing on the cake, not the flour.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how aggressive will you be in trading for draft picks: 2 - Going BPA gives you the best players on your roster, trading up or down could mean you are reaching for a player or meaning you miss out on one.

What makes you qualified to lead reconstruction: My numerous mocks, the ability to remember random stats and attention to detail

***End of Application***
