Per rotoworlds breaking news...story developing..yes I beat billy spikes...
Quote: | The Patriots reportedly fear Rob Gronkowski sustained a broken forearm in Sunday's win over the Colts.
Late in the fourth quarter, Gronkowski headed to the locker room and didn't return. He's set for X-rays to determine if there's a fracture. Before going down, Gronk piled up a 7/137/2 line in his usual dominating fashion. All owners can do for now is hold their collective breath. |
This would be devastating. I didnt gronk could break, i thought he did breaking _________________ A sunny disposition is worth more than fortune. This clearly merits its own thread. _________________ A sunny disposition is worth more than fortune. Young people should know that it can be cultivated; that the mind like the body can be moved from the shade into sunshine. Thine own reproach alone do fear |

Likely bad news for the #Patriots: Team fears Rob Gronkowski has broken his forearm, I'm told. Tests to confirm ongoing |

I still don't understand how/when this happened. Hopefully Hernandez is ready to go this week. _________________

They can probably withstand his loss in the passing game, assuming Hernandez can get/stay healthy.
Losing him in the running game is devastating though. The remaining TE's are all bad blockers. |

Some guys have played through broken forearms, right? They wear that cast/club thing around their arm. Gronk obviously couldnt catch with it, but he might be able to still block a bit.
Was it Seau who did that? or someone on offense? _________________ A sunny disposition is worth more than fortune. Young people should know that it can be cultivated; that the mind like the body can be moved from the shade into sunshine. Thine own reproach alone do fear |

Depending how bad of a break it is, this is something like a 3-8 week injury. Not crazy to think he could be back by the beginning of the playoffs. |

Was it Seau who did that? or someone on offense? | Didn't Edelman play with a broken forearm a few years ago? I can't remember when it was, but I remember he caught a touchdown and had to switch hands to spike the ball. _________________

Playing LB or DE with a "club" is way different than TE.
We've probably seen the last of Gronkowski as a top player this year.
Of course, it depends on how bad the break is (assuming it is broken) |

If it's just a fracture and not a complete break, it might just be four weeks. Or it could be a season-ender. Bad news either way. |

I am just thankful its not a leg injury. He will come back from this. As I noted in the game thread, injuries for Gronk as inevitable with his style of play. |

This probably happened when Gronk spiked the ball. But this would suck big time. I hope Gronk can recover up by playoffs or Super Bowl though.

Might just be 4 weeks til he's back on the field but he'd likely have a cast on after that. |

Yeah, but the bone will have knit enough that he could actually use the arm, as opposed to just having it protected and being largely useless. |
