I thought this would be a good idea for a thread to be updated weekly.
New York Jets:
DE Quinton Coples 1(16): After an impressive preseason, Coples had a surprise start at DE for the Jets yesterday. He finished the game with a TFL, stopping CJ Spiller. He also had a QB hit, however that play didn't end well for him, as he was flagged for roughing the passer.
WR Stephen Hill 2(43): Prior to the game, Hill was labeled as a raw rookie who struggles with drops. He certainly didn't look raw yesterday. He finished the game with 5 catches for 89 yards and 2 TDs. He became only the 5th WR since 1998 to have 2 TD receptions in his debut. Oh and he was puking on the sideline during the entire game.
LB Demario Davis 3(77): Active for the game, but did not play on defense.
S Josh Bush 6(187): Active for the game, but did not play on defense.
DT Damon Harrison (UDFA): Inactive for the game.
Should add in that S Antonio Allen (7th) and WR Jordan White (7th) are on the PS, while RB Terrance Ganaway (6th) is a Ram and OL Robert T. Griffin (6th) is unemployed. _________________

Fletcher Cox - I believe he had a sack, it might've negated due to an injury, but I think it happened after the play.
Kendricks - 4 Tackles, played solid.
Curry - Inactive.
Foles - Backup QB, was better than Vick though.
Boykin - I think he had a couple of PBU's and some tackles. Played something like 2/3 of the Defensive snaps, didn't do a whole lot as KR.
Kelly - Inactive.
Bryce Brown - 2 carries for 2 or 3 yards.
Chris Polk - Active, but didn't get a single snap. _________________

To sum it up...
They don't play. Haha.
The only rookie who touched the field was Trenton Robinson our fifth round safety. He played on special teams only _________________ ***WE RUN THE WEST!***

Barron layed the wood on Smith!! Dude's got range. I'm - stoked about this kid.
We damn near ran Martin into the ground. He had 27 touches. But he looked pretty good.
David actually wore the mic for the defense. He was everywhere. Very impressive. _________________

Floyd saw a few snaps on offense, was targeted once, and had a false start. About what was expected.
Jamell Fleming played the nickel CB but was on the outside in 5 DB sets. Sustained a shoulder injury that kept him out for much of the second half, but should be fine for week 2, nothing really of note.
Bobbie Massie started and played the full game at RT without a blemish in the passing game, but struggled some in the run game.
Kelemete was inactive
Ryan Lindley was inactive.
Justin Bethel played ST's and 3 snaps on D
Nate Potter was inactive _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

1. Shea McClellin-some good pressure, a silly penalty that caused a sack/fumble by Peppers to be nullified (lined up in the neutral zone)
2. Alshon Jeffery-3 rec, 80 yards, TD. No question who the #2 is. He flashed all of the traits that made him a great WR at SC.
3. Brandon Hardin-IR
4. Evan Rodriguez-Starting H-Back, surprised us all by doing a great job lead blocking for Matt Forte yesterday.
6. Isiah Frey-Practice squad
7. Greg McCoy-Cut
UDFAs-Matt Blanchard, James Brown-Practice squad _________________

Cox did get credit for the sack, there was a post play penalty for falling on Weeden directly after it.
Kelly was active yesterday, but did not play a single snap (Bell was a healthy scratch).
Kendricks looks like he could be a stud moving forward. He flashed his speed, instincts and tackling ability yesterday. He also broke up a pass, but the tipped ball ended up being caught by a CLE TE or WR.
Boykin did rather well in the slot IMO. He did give up a short gain or two, but played tight man coverage and did have that important pass deflection in the 2nd half. _________________

Derek Wolfe has been very good all summer and continued that trend last night. Is a very good pass rusher from the middle and is stout at taking responsibility for his gap on running plays.
Broncos fans are pretty excited about him for sure. _________________

Surprising. I thought he was going to take the #2 WR spot there and have a really good rookies season. Are Blackmon, Hill, and Jeffery the only rookies starting at WR in the NFL? _________________

Chandler Jones - Strip sack and consistently generated pressure on a top NFL tackle
Dont'a Hightower - Fumble recovery and TD on debut. He was in on 4 tackles and 1 assist, looked great in run D - sheds a lot of blockers.
Tavon Wilson - 1 interception and 2 pass defelctions. Showed some physicality in the box - rotated in and out with Pat Chung.
Jake Bequette - Inactive
Nate Ebner - Had a team high 2 tackles on ST's
Alfonzo Denard - Inactive, hamstring injury
Justin Francis (UDFA) - Inactive
Marcus Forston (UDFA) - Inactive _________________

1. OT Matt Kalil - Kalil has been good so far, though he wasnt really tested week 1 going against Andre Branch who was silented. Week 3 will be his first big test going up against Justin and Aldon Smith.
1. S Harrison Smith - As smart as advertised, Smith did a good job not letting anyone get by him in Cover 2. Though he was late in coverage on a 20 yard pass to Laurent Robinson. If he was two steps closer he would have nailed Robinson just as he caught that pass. Overall good instincts for a young player, who should get better.
3. CB Josh Robinson - Robinson gave up a few receptions underneath and made a few plays in run support. Overall, he didnt get burned for anything significant.
4. WR Jarius Wright - Inactive Week 1
4. TE Rhett Ellison - Looked good in preseason, looks like a good blocker.
4. WR Greg Childs - IR
5. S Robert Blanton - Inactive Week 1. Battled injuries all camp/preseason.
6. K Blair Walsh - HOF candidate.
7. LB Audie Cole - Inactive Week 1. Preseason defensive MVP, if there was one.
7. DE Trevor Guyton - Practice squad? |

I loved watching the end of that game. Martin looked like warrior out there. Kid looks like a stud. _________________
