What?!

Who cares if he made a football move.

You have to control the ball to the ground.

How can you mess up that call?!?!?

Because he broke the plane of the end zone....

So did Calvin Johnson, hell, he was IN the endzone on the play that made that rule so well known.

I don't give a rats arse who wins this game, but by the rule, that is a bad call.

I think that's the difference though. Johnson made the catch within the end zone so he had to maintain possession to establish that it was a catch. Alexander made the catch outside the end zone and made a football move to the goal line of the end zone. Thus as soon as the ball crosses the goal line it doesn't matter what occurs afterwards. So I think it was the correct call in hindsight.

I feel like Chargers games are always ending in that disappointing manner

lol yeah, they didn't even try for one last play. I know it would have been very hard to get to the line in 13 seconds, but at least TRY.

I guess I just wouldn't call that a football move based on what I saw called not a football move today in the Saints game.

I will be the first to admit I only saw the play in slow motion once though.

To be honest I can't fault him. His line seems disinterested in blocking for him. His coaching staff seems disinterested in giving him necessary adjustments to buy him any kind of opportunity to keep clean. And his front office has shown no interest in remedying either of those two situations.

It was closer to 6; to be honest with the lack of hustle our OL shows it's debatable they would have even been able to line up again quick enough to get the ball snapped in time.
