Last 5 games: 13 TD passes to 1 pick, and the Bucs are 4-1.
But on the other hand, Doug Martin announcing his presence to the league has been a big factor in the team's success, and they haven't exactly faced a murderer's row of defenses [Chiefs, Saints, Vikings, Raiders, Chargers].
So is Freeman for real or is he just taking advantage of favorable matchups a-la 2010? _________________

I think he is a top 15 QB who had a tough sophomore season. _________________

Those are the reasons I'm not sold on him yet. They're truly awful pass defenses this year.
Then there's Martin. Plus, Jackson and Williams are big, fast and strong enough that he can just throw it up to them. I think last year several players showed that that's a combination that can conceal some QBs weaknesses. _________________

His issue is consistency. Always has been. Not just game to game, but season to season.
Two things I need to see...
1) Perform at a high level in consecutive seasons.
2) Perform at a relatively high level vs some quality defenses.
Im not saying he needs to be elite or anything, but Im definitely not sold on him yet. There are alot of QBs who have had nice stretches, even though they werent that good overall. I still think he is an average QB until I see that consistency and ability to step up in big games. _________________

You can certainly make the argument that we are playing weak pass defenses. Unfortunately for Freeman, our schedule doesn't get much tougher as the season goes on, so that criticism will stand as the season continues.
We played a lot of tougher games early, and the play calling has done a complete 180 since our Bye week in week 5. So while I'm sure it'll be mentioned that he played poorly against earlier opponents, we're a very different team now. _________________

Dang it I meant his second full season as starter.
You are correct though my mistake. _________________

They started off pretty bad, but have since seriously rebounded.
Freeman, right now looks like a top 10 QB. He manages the game superbly and doesn't get greedy.
Tampa Bay is a hot team right now, and a lot comes from Josh Freeman.
I love the guy. I hope he does great. _________________

Well assuming the Bucs keep up this play... and with their schedule being somewhat manageable down the stretch, the Bucs should certainly be able to make the playoffs with what they have offensively and defensively.
So from then on, there shouldn't be a case where we can simply say, "Freeman is playing against vanilla defenses". I want to see Freeman guide his team to the playoffs and when he gets there, look at the very least pretty darn good. All games and matchups aren't going to go your way, but if he can do a decent job in the playoffs if he faces an elite defense/pass rush (like San Fran)... or good against a pretty good defense, than I'll be impressed. Now if he goes into the playoffs and does his best Matt Ryan impression, well then... nothing more to see here. _________________

I just want to see Free continue to play well for the rest of the season and keep us in the playoff hunt. I don't see our secondary letting us make the playoffs but I hope Free can keep us in our last seven games. _________________
