Why are there so many rematches so close to each other? Why do so many teams play each other twice in 3 or 4 weeks? Shocked

I was wondering this as well. So many instances of teams playing each other 2x in 3 weeks.

Didn't the NFL push back all the division game to the end of the year now so they were like this? I think I remember this happened last year but we had that one week (3?) that every team played a team with the same bye so they could be played later if needed.

Yep. Keeps teams with great records still having to fight for games late in the season because division games are so important. Just one way the NFL is trying to keep teams from locking stuff up early and sitting the stars we pay to see.

And whoever made that schedule is amazing.

It's weird for sure. I know they had this happen before realignment, but ever since they usually did a pretty good job of spacing games out. Now it seems like they've let themselves go.

Oh by the way, was I the only one who looked at the username as soon as I saw the title? I was expecting someone else.

Another weird thing is that it's week 11 and we still have yet to play our division rival Chiefs even once. While after this week we would have played the Chargers twice.

ALSO what is with all these crappy teams on primetime this year? I do like a change from seeing the same teams every week but wow some of these games just scream unwatchable.

Goddell wanted every team to get a TNF game.

I'm a big believer that the schdules should start with the first 3 weeks of all divisional games and hte last 3 weeks of all divisional games.

the NFL didn't want the latter part of the season to be filled with inconsequential games, so made more Division matchups happen now, with only a few weeks left to go.

the Vikings are yet to play any of their games vs the Bears or Packers, for example.

What's funny is the Jets and Bills played in week one and won't again until week seventeen.

They've been doing this for years, it's just become a bit more common now.
