There's quite a few in my area. We have some great distances between small towns so transportation by car is almost essential.
I have picked up my fair share but often bypass them because I'm too lazy to move the crap in my passenger seat and I don't like them sitting behind me. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

Never, the New Yorker in me naturally distrusts anyone around me, especially those asking for a favor. Pretend you dont see them and walk away. _________________

I'm anti-hitchhiker, especially after a recent experience. We were on our way home from New England and we had stopped at one of those big food courts. When we were leaving, after we had pulled out of the parking lot, there was what I think was a hasidic teenage boy (not trying to talk religion, but my point is with his appearance he looked out of place in our society). He started waving his arm out and so instinctively I guess my dad started slowing down the car, he saw it wasn't it cop or anything so I think he was going to keep going and then the boy thinking we were stopping for him started to chase our car. He chased us a good 200 feet. It was a very odd experience to say the least, for multiple reasons.
This little story is besides the point though, I still think it is risky in case they're dangerous. I also don't buy the idea that your helping someone in need because nearly 90% of adults in the US have cell phones sooo... yeah. _________________

Depends on what they look like.
I'm a big guy and can handle myself better than the average person, so I don't worry too much, and I usually get something out of it.
One time a guy gave me an entire large pizza for giving him a ride that was just on my way home.
Most of the rides I give are people I see when I'm at a gas station or something like that. Last time I gave a ride, me and my little brother were at a Gamestop and a handicapped kid was just standing around outside so I asked him if he needed a ride. _________________

Even if it is that high. Not 90% of adults have cellphone plans or have paid off their phone appropriately. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

There are no hitchhikers, to my knowledge, around my town. I've seen them on the side of roads far away from here in areas I don't travel too often, so I don't pick them up. Plus, I never would anyway. You never know for sure if they're concealing guns or something. _________________ RIP SuperSkinFan

Not sure if the OP meant to put this in WAYTA or ask a question but forgot to.
Assuming this is a question (Do/would I pick up hitchhikers?), my answer would be an emphatic no. _________________

Don't see a lot of hitch hikers in SouthEastern Michigan. Too cold 1/3 year, too wet/windy another 1/3, too hot the other. But I would never pick up a hitch hiker. I probably wouldn't pick up someone with a broken down car either, just call them some help! _________________ Kate Upton for sexy President!!!

First thing that came to my mind was, "He has Bud Lite. He has an axe!"
Lets see if we're thinking alike here. Clicking link. Nope. But that's funny too. _________________
