|
NOTE: This mock is far from perfect. I have not have as much time to "evaluate" players this year. Hopefully that will change as the draft nears.
Falcons win the Super Bowl. Yay.
Gonzo walks out on top. Turner, McClure, and Grimes also depart. Everybody else of note returns for the sake of this mock.
As far as the FA splash, insert a player of your liking at a need that has not been addressed by the draft.
** Trade 1st for a 2nd and 3rd **
R2: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
Run blocking has been atrocious. Move Konz to C and add a OG early (insert any OG you want here).
R2: Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
The Stanford mascot himself. Steps in day one and starts.
R3: Margust Hunt, DE, SMU
A freak of nature. Don't know if he'll be available here but what the hell.
R3: Jonathan Franklin, RB, UCLA
I'm not sold on any one RB this year but we need one (again, insert any RB of your liking here).
R4: Larry Black Jr., DT, Indiana
I've seen a little of Black and he has some explosiveness. Regardless, a DT is needed.
R4C: Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M
Kid is a gamer. Enough said.
R5: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
My favorite mid-round QB. Hope he is available here. Battles with Davis for back-up position.
R6: Kiko Alonso, LB, Oregon
He'll have to check out with TD and Smith, but Alonso is a nice all-around, versatile LB.
R7: Jeff Braun, OT, West Virginia
Random OT added for depth. _________________

Not dogging in Stephen Jackson, but wouldn't that move be going a little backwards? _________________

Carr isnt coming out. Plus when he does, he is going to be one of the first QBs taken. _________________

| great draft, and great idea of trading back. the FA splash in your scenario needs to be a DB. |

except the Falcons don't view Konz as the long term solution at C. they view Hawley as that. I like the idea of taking a G to replace Blalock, but not in the first. _________________

yep. Probably could be a 1-2nd rd pick this year if he came out. Would zoom up draft boards because of the weak draft class. If he declared, he'd be my #1 QB. _________________
