I dont think there are discrepancies in the exam, it it as you said, historical figures who might fit more than one bill.

Lincoln was clearly an ENFJ though. On the inside, he was a intellectual & introverted as could be. But he is famous not only for his oratory skills and charisma, but the fact that he lived & died with his personal relationships, and how they were going. His crazy wife used to 'drag him down' at times, while at others 'raising him up entirely'. Abe suffered from depression throughout his life (he admittedly seriously thought of suicide at multiple times in his life) solely due losing people close to him (first girlfriend, law partner, children), yet also spells of untouchable success- somehow is strong enough mentally to lead the nation against slavery, though he was barely strong enough to overcome the death of his first girlfriend, when he told his town he was suicidal. Personal relationships totally dominated Lincolns feelings.

It's an odd balance only ENFJ's walk. He was very, very close with people ("my dear friend"), and was known to be overly warm & affectionate. This isn't just emotionally close - for example, Lincoln enjoyed sharing beds with many of his male friends because he likes feeling 'close to them'. He was known for being 'cuddly' with his kids. It is innocent as could be. If you can think of that awesome grandfather who just exudes warmth, support, etc - that was Abe...but he was like that when he like 20. Laughing

Someone who, to his core, is very, very idealistic. Though Lincoln considered nobody to be better than him, he also felt he better than nobody else. Guy was a social worker before there were social workers. A counselor before there were counselors. One of the world greatest teachers. Introverted mind but extraverted personality - ENFJ all the way. I many ways, Abe is what people like Reagan, Obama, and JFK aspired to be, but were not quite naturally. The older Bush is supposed to be the closest thing.

He has many I traits, but they are not I - rather the N and F. He was introvert on the inside, but ike a classic extravert, his personality is dominated by his dealings with other people. Despite obviously being extremely intellectual, Abe was a peoples person to the absolute max. ENFJ through and through.

True...truly I can see both....history has almost told a story of two different men. Part of the reason is I think his position in power forced him to be more of a INTP. When you go off of just his political actions and decisions it fits INTP more than ENFJ. He knew that he had to draw back an analyze one of the most important periods in the history of the country.

You take for example the Getteysburg Address....it is so short but at the same time told you everything you needed to hear. It's is a very INTP thing to keep things brief and get to the point..but still do so passionately when it's something you care about.

So really I think oddly both fit. ENFJ as Lincoln the Man.....and INTP as Lincoln the President...but now that you bring it up... I agree that his closeness with people probably makes him not an INTP outright....there is a reason we are often referred to as robots ha.
